We parked near the Cedar entrance and walked into start the trial at post 5. We were glad to have stopped at the ranger station to pick up the map ($1) before we started. However, we did have a few points were there were no posts, sign or markings for the trail when it hit the gravel road. We back tracked a bit and met some ladies that explained how to find the next part of the trail. It was nice the trail is located in the trees and we had shade. This is not the hike to do if you are looking for views. You will see some water and lots of trees.

Only a few minutes from downtown Murphy's, can't believe we have never been here in all the years of wine tasting trips! First, do not go if you have wine tasting already! It is definitely not for individuals with weak knees, problems breathing, or problems with small, low, tight places. With that said, I went to celebrate my 55th birthday and there were people of all ages, etc. I am active, work on my feet for 8 hrs a day and am also 35 lbs overweight. Now I am on a diet! I made it down pretty well. It was the climb out! At some points the stairs were like climbing a ladder and I had to rely on my arm strength to pull me up the stairs. Small children were on our tour and the ones under 6 were tired, I watched a young mother carry a 3-4 yr old boy up those stairs, she was struggling as she could not hold the rails and him at the same time. Wear good shoes, NO flip flops. Now, it was Beautiful!! Amazing to see!! and I am super happy I braved it! Worth the sore thighs and triceps I have today!

On my way back home from the north trail hike in big trees kid's wanted to swim so stopped by white pines lake. I googled& found it as being closest place from there to swim at. My my, what a beautiful way to end my weekend.. Absolutely loved. Very quiet, peaceful, small but clean, nice place to spend time with the children. You can swim, hike exterior perimeter of lake, fish & there is a playground for the kids.. Best part? Priceless.. Create beautiful memories free as it cost nothing to get in.. Lol.. Just a secluded best kept secret.

I really enjoyed this small museum which did a good job of e planning the logging business. There was a nice variety of displays and exhibits. The volunteer at the museum was friendly, knowledgeable, and obviously loving his job there. I didn't have time to wander through the machinery outside the museum, but I can see where this would have been something my husband would have really enjoyed. Arnold can be proud of its museum.

A Place For Gifts And Clothing. A very unique shop with an ever-changing inventory of gifts and accessories. Wall art, candles, jewelry, women's clothing, shoes, greeting cards, soaps & lotions and so much more!
The items in Fine Things are not found in other stores where I've shopped. They seem to have things that are suitable for most ages. I can find something unique every time I go there to shop. If I need a gift that suits a...MoreThank you Sandy! We appreciate the feedback!

Home of the giant sequoias called "Tree Giants," and a great place for family camping. Park entrance is located near Arnold, California.
We have been here a few times.
Love the groves of trees, easy paths to the groves and lovely spots along the creek & river. We spent several hours here each time and always learned a lot and were amazed by the awesome trees.
A side note: on one visit there were A LOT of meat bees - quite aggressive as well - made checking out the trees or picnicking less than pleasurable so check with park before you go.
