The Museum Visitor Center is carried out in the beautiful Casa Rossa Ximenes (iconic structure of Maremma’s Reclamation) designed in 1765 by the distinguished Jesuit mathematician Leonardo Ximenes by the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Pietro Leopoldo of Lorena’s will. Today’s Museum serves as reception for the Diaccia Botrona Nature Reserve Visitor Center for information, reservations, Boat tours and educational activities departure point.

Fattoria Le Mortelle is surrounded by beautiful scenery with a tranquil setting in perfectly manicured grounds. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, and we have reason to go back again as we did not manage to see how the wine was made because viewing is upon reservation. The wine selection was small, but it came with an excellent array of nibbles to enjoy whilst sitting back and enjoying the sunset on the terrace overlooking the magnificent views.
