Stowmarket (/ˈstoʊˌmɑːrkɪt/ STOH-mar-kət) is a small market town in Suffolk, England, on the busy A14 trunk road between Bury St Edmunds to the west and Ipswich to the southeast. The town is on the main railway line between London and Norwich, and lies on the River Gipping, which is joined by its tributary, the River Rat, to the south of the town.

I use the theatre regularly and they want to upgrade the place to a modern style, this will loose the integrity of a great old building, destroying the atmosphere and the feel of the place, I bow to progress as it is going to happen but wanted to register a vote to keep it as it is.

A cosy back street pub with real ales on offer. Winning many awards that are well deserved. An outside room hosts a pool table. Popularity is displayed by the number of dart and pool teams that the pub boasts. Dog and child friendly.
