When you visit Halesworth make sure you visit the Museum, housed in our Victorian Railway Station. For more than twenty years volunteers have been collecting and researching the history and archaeology of this fascinating corner of Suffolk. Spend some time with the displays which will take you across 10,000 years, from the earliest settlers in the Blyth Valley to the busy hub of malting, brewing and agriculture which was the town in Victorian times. For the 2018 season we have four new exhibitions, “They paid the price … men from Halesworth killed in the Great War”; “The British Red Cross in Halesworth & District 1914-1918”, “The de Argenteins, Lords of Halesworth Manor” and in a new cabinet the Wissett Hoards two significant hoards of Middle Bronze Age Axeheads and Spear Heads. We have also changed the Railway exhibit to include three models.
This museum punches well above its weight, excellent local history, ranging from the excellent Wissett Hoard to the town history including the railways that ser and served Halesworth. The Staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth a visit

More than "just" a library we provide a community resource, catering for all ages. As well as welcoming locals we are delighted to have visitors coming in and using our facilities and joining in our activities. If we're busy you may have to wait a short while for assistance but you can be assured that we are always polite and friendly, treating everyone with respect! We have tourist information including bus and train timetables. We also have lots of resources on local activities and services. We have WiFi and computers and i pads. We have a great selection of books too - including old ones for sale very cheaply! We have a very up to date Junior Library and are very proud of its wide stock! If we don't have what you need, or can't answer a question, we'll do our best to help. We have a quiet garden where you can sit and enjoy the peace and the flowers. We have a toilet for customer use and can provide a cup of tea or coffee - or bring your own from a nearby cafe. Everybody welcome.

Fantastic facility for the area. Varied programme. Good cinema night on a Wednesday. Variety of amateur dramatics, variable quality but good endeavour. INK festival in April the tops.

Beautiful gardens, delicious food and really lovely staff. Was made to feel very safe with the infection control precautions, which were done in a relaxed and professional way. Will definitely be going back!

The unique feature of this church is the Wenhaston Doom dating from the late C15th. Now in a new position, lower down in the church so that you can get a better view, it's a series of wooden boards containing the paintings of a Crucifix surrounded by the Virgin Mary, St John and the Day of Judgement. Amazing
