My fiance (girlfriend at the time) and I visited Cantina Atha Ruja Poderi in June 2019 as part of our week long trip to Sardinia. I wanted to find the perfect experience and setting to propose to her. I got in contact with Manuela via WhatsApp prior to our holiday to ask if she could accommodate this, and she was more than happy to help with the proposal. She even put together a set up in the middle of the vines and sent me photos to make sure all was okay! She was very helpful in organising the details leading up to the big moment. Upon arrival, the vineyard exceeded my expectations, it was an absolutely beautiful setting. Manuela lead us round to our own table between the vines and presented three of her wines for us to taste, before giving us a bit of privacy to enjoy our favorite bottle and for me to ask the question (she said yes!) The vineyard was beautiful and the wine was amazing, and we will both now remember the vineyard forever. We bought a bottle to open after our wedding and will definitely return for more! Thank you Manuela for all your help with the proposal.

The Cala Gonone Acquarium is placed in a marvellousMediterranean park. The exhibit, projected as an acquatic journey from the shore to the dephts passing trough coral reefs, displays different ecosystems of the Mediterranean Sea in 24 entertaining and educational tanks, with great attention on typical organism living in our sea.
First impression of Cala Gonone may not be great, but the aquarium is amazing. The tanks are spotless and the fish seem to be happy. Everywhere you look you find educational information about the sea life and the impact humans have on it by polluting, overfishing, bringing invasive species, destroying the environment. It touched me to see their blind male sea turtle and burnt fox. The turtle has been found choking with plastic on the shore unable to go back to water, swim and feed while seagulls were pecking its eyes. They saved it but the turtle is blind now and they have to feed it through a tube while distracting the other fish in the tank. It is heartbreaking to see it bump into the rocks of the aquarium. But people working there do their best taking care of it and they managed to help it double its weight. The fox is the victim of a fire. First, when I saw it, I thought it was such a strange breed, to learn afterwards that it had a face permanently deformed and no claws due to the fire. It was a baby when it happened and had to be fed and cared for by humans. Due to this and its injuries it will have to spend the rest of its days here. So, I was really impressed by the dedication these people have for taking care of these two animals. They have lots of fish, all so beautiful and in gorgeously arranged environments. Also of a deep emotional effect on all is the fish tank with small sharks and stingrays that come, of their own free will, to be petted by visitors. It is simply amazing to see those fish come from their protected area, swim towards people and float or stick their heads out of the water to be touched and caressed. It makes one think that fish, even the feared and misinterpreted sharks, have a brain and a soul, appreciate affection and interaction, they are not just food.
