Pamukkale Thermal Pools

Reviewed By colonial23 - County Galway, Ireland

Turkey is the most beautiful country naturally in the world. You can argue for New Zealand but no way. No other country has more natural beauty packed into one space. Surrounded by five seas:Black, Bosporus, Marmara Aegean and the Mediterranean, Turkey is also blessed with mountains with spice-like striations, tons of glacial lakes like Uzungol, snow capped mountains tumbling into the sea on the exquisite unparalleled Black Sea coast, waterfalls everywhere in Anatolia, and travertines such as this one in Pammukkale. This place with natural turquoise pools and white stone looks like a more beautiful version of the moon. There is also an impeccable island with swans in a lake adjoining. Pammukkale is not to be missed if your desire is to see THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES in the world.

Hierapolis & Pamukkale

Reviewed By nyclaurent - Paris, France

Those two sites that are next to each other, will brings u in another dimension . The Natural pools , as known also as the cotton Castle, are simply amazing to watch and u can take a bath if u want in the numerous pool builds for the tourists and overlooking the splendid panorama. The white and light blue will catch u eyes . Then on the way to visit Hierapolis u can stop at the cleopatra bath/pool and site on antic Greek columns drawn on the bottom of the pools . And then comes the ancient ruins of Hierapolis where u will see remains of a thermal city destroyed on 60 by an earthquake :( We took a flight from Istambul to Denizli then found a “ private “ shuttle to the site . Flight was about 60$ and shuttle 70Tl. The entrance fee is for both sites and really affordable

Pamukkale Natural Park

Reviewed By ramilk2013 - Moscow, Russia

Pamukkale is a fantastically pleasant place. There are wonderful travertines for taking natural baths, mineral water pools, an archaeological Museum and the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, as well as a modern customer service infrastructure. In my opinion, the place deserves at least two days of stay, because there are many attractions around. We were with small children in the first decade of September. It was very hot in the afternoon up to 37 degrees Celsius. I advise you to cover your head and shoulders from the sun.

Mount Honaz National Park

What a once in a lifetime experience to walk barefoot up a calcium mountain through puddles and ponds of the clearest water. At the top we splurged and paid the 100 lr price to swim in Cleopatra's pool which was amazing. A walk through the well kept ruins turned up lots of pottery (which of course we didnt take) and even a pit viper (which we also didnt take).

Cleopatra Pools

Reviewed By 648dalidab

After walking all over Pamukkale and Hierapolis we found out abput these pools. Ancient Celopatra pool are stunning. It is ancient Roman place and today renovated pools of thermal water with original pieces of history arround you. Inside of pool you will see pillars and ancient columns and you can swimm arround them. We felt like Tomb Raiders :). It is not to touristic place since the entrence is not to cheap but tottaly worth it. I have to say the staff is super polite and friendly.
