Melbourne is proud of its neighborhood precincts, each offering a unique cultural experience. No other city in Australia has such clearly defined areas. This could be because Melbournians are both worldly in their outlook yet tribal in their local loyalties – as seen in the fanatical support for their local AFL football clubs. Here history is cared for and exemplified in the originality of diverse neighborhoods – each has a unique face but all of them will greet you with a smile.

Arrived, wanted to leave! Food in fridge from previous guests - leftover juice, milk half eaten deserts... not a good sign. Went into bathroom - mold, broken bath faucet, shower DRIBBLED. Washed some clothes overnight and looked for a missing sock only to find other guests underwear, chewing gum and other assorted rubbish behind machine. Picked up a shirt in the morning only to shake out a SILVERFISH! So silverfish we supposed explained all the holes in the carpet. Booked for 2 adults and 2 children but only got a double and a fold out for 3! Reception claimed it was the fault of booking.com even though our confirmation email STATED 2 adults, 2 children! Kids had to sleep on awful fold out sofa that was all springs - ended up putting mattress straight on the floor but that wasn't any better. Just an absolute RUBBISH, expensive night.

Just spent one night here, was looking for a central location in Richmond and this was the best find and definitely will be back. From the easy access to the location, service from the staff at Reception (Xilena for Check in) and then (Ellena) for the rest of my interactions and requests (she was even amazing on the phone before I stayed - thanks so much) and then also the rooms - very modern look and set up with great overall layout (stayed in a one bedroom) and this is definitely what I will be looking for next time. I really wish I had more time to relax and stay a longer period. This place really has everything covered and the staff are there ready to make an even better memorable experience. If you are looking for a comfortable and convienient place to stay in Richmond definitely book this place. I will be back and looking at staying in #601 again. Thanks again so much Lanbruk Richmond Hill Team :)

The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane was completely refurbished in September 2011, when it celebrated its 90th anniversary. The refurbishment design philosophy drew inspiration from the early "fashion house" days with a view of creating an expression of sophisticated elegance, through an individual design concept that would remain unique to The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane. The result has turned this "all suite" apartment building into a market leading boutique hotel. Presented is a contemporary range of sophisticated one bedroom suites that infuse modern design philosophies with the architectural and historical heritage of the building. Archival Melbourne scenes are displayed in the black and white artwork that adorn the corridors, evolving into a celebration of Melbourne's modern icons throughout the suites. With the retention of the original detailed cornice and architraves, blended with contemporary designer furniture and fittings and modern state of the art appliances, the change is exceptional. The sophisticated colour palette is the key design element, from charcoal European bathroom tiles, contrasted by the white, chrome and glass designer fixtures to the use of dark veneers, stainless steel, leather and stone throughout the design.New Guest Features include The Courtyard which is a European inspired inner city escape that provides guests with an intimate courtyard garden to share a drink with friends or to simply relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. While the days of fashion are well in the past at 321 Flinders Lane, those looking for a fashion experience will not be disappointed with The Sebel Melbourne's Flinders Lane location. Ideally located between Elizabeth and Queen Street, it is in close proximity to Melbourne's shopping, and entertainment district with the added benefit of having Melbourne's famous cafe culture and the iconic Flinders Street Station right around the corner.
Location is easy walking access to most things in Melbourne including MCG and Marvel stadium. The accommodation is 5 star with large suites and beds. Full kitchen makes self catering a breeze when you don't want to explore the many eateries.

Upon arrival I paid for parking for parking and accommodation for 3 nights, I was promised that if I paid a $30 a night charge I’d have parking . I approached reception for a bath mat, face washer, tea towel and hand towel and was told they do not provide them . And if I needed them to go buy them , I brushed this off. Then came Saturday my birthday , my friend was confronted in the elevator by an Asian staff member, and he asked her if she was female or male . And that she looked like a man. Once again brushed this off. We then tried to get a coffee from the cafe was told we had to walk down the road as she didn’t want to open it that day. Later that evening I returned to the hotel to a man yelling that there was no parking , which that meant no parking for me as there is only 12 spots and it’s first in best dressed who pays gets them supposedly. I approached reception a told an Asian receptionist about the issue with both of us , she then proceeded to tell me to park on the road somewhere. I told her I was happy to do that but I’d like a refund for the parking , she then proceeded to go off at me abusing me and screaming at me on my birthday telling me I have to check out because I was rude. She then proceeded to call the police , we had been nothing but reasonable, other guests were really sympathetic over the situation. She proceeded to lock us in the reception and call the police. Police contacted me and advised she does this at least 4 times a week and to check out and take it further. She kept refusing to refund me and kept taking personal calls while we were standing there with the key cards trying to check out like she asked as the situation was just escalating , in the end I had to leave with no refund . In tears and had to spend another $700 on accommodation. Since then my number has been blocked , I’ve called over 75 times , emailed at least 50 times. Her husband is abusive and she’s in denial. The mood in the bathroom is enough to Jill someone ,nothing was clean , sheets were used. They don’t provide towels or anything like that. You cannot exit the motel from the actual exit , linen trolleys are placed in the disabled parking and her unregistered cars are parked at the start of the exit , meaning you have to exit from the entry onto on coming cars or through someone’s property. Property says no smoking but a guy literally walked through the hotel in front of her smoking and she allowed him to continue on to his room. Still endless battle to get a refund. She also took different amounts out of my bank accounts to the amount advertised. In amongst trying to check out 5 other guests had no where to park as she admitted she’d charged 49 guests parking with only 12 spots available . So she made $1500 compared to her normal $360 she’d normally get . Biggest rip off, worst customer’s service , you get better service at a hostel then you do here , definitely not even a 1 star rating!

I booked to stay with City Lifestyle with booking.com On booking it said to call the property if you were to be checking in late. I emailed them to let them know on booking, then called twice. No one answered or replied to my email. I then got to the property late at night after a flight hoping for the best. However when I got there, there were no instructions for what to do. The door was locked to the building and the hostel was on a different floor. I called the number on the door, someone did answer and said to wait for someone to let me in. After convincing someone, she did let me in, however she was on a different floor so I then had to wait for someone to actually let me onto the right level. This took quite a long time and was quite stressful. Once I finally got to the reception floor, I requested to get the keys out of the lockbox, however the man on the phone demanded a $100 deposit over the phone. I had paid in full prior to arriving and this was no where to be found on the website - I explained that I did not have a card capable of doing so, so in the morning I could pay him in cash or with my Eftpos card. He said no, that I could get cash out now. It was about 10:30pm, and if I were to get cash out it would have required me to again leave the building and try get back in. Plus - if he wasn't there, where the heck was I going to leave the cash anyway? I explained to him that I had given notice that I was going to be late and no one had gotten back to me, so if we could please just let me in my room and we can sort it out in the morning. The man refused, so I said well I guess I can't stay here because if I leave, I can't get back in. He was extremely rude about the entire situation and told me to talk with Booking.com as I requested a refund. So far, I have called Booking.com multiple times and no one has been able to get me an answer, with City Lifestyle labelling me in their system as a "no show" therefore I'm ineligible for a refund. It's utter nonsense and lead to me being alone late at night in Melbourne with no where to stay.
