Piedra de Agua - Fuente Termal y Spa is a modern and complete thermal tourism center located 10 minutes from downtown Cuenca - Ecuador. Built almost entirely from limestone rock of volcanic origin carved out of the same location, Piedra de Agua combines stone, glass and wood in its clean and modern architecture to achieve delicate and comforting spaces. Our main attractions are our THERMAL WATER of volcanic origin and a series of related services which include volcanic mud treatments, vaporized massages, steam baths, contrast baths, box steam baths and more. Our guests can take full advantage of the world renowned medicinal and healing properties of natural thermal water in a place specifically designed to relieve stress and find peace and serenity.
Super recommended! The personal is really nice and attentive. They don't hurry you to go through the spa circuit, they let you take your time. In the end we got a tea while waiting on our cab and an employee guided us to the cab with an umbrella because it was raining.

These beautiful natural hot springs can be found in the midst of the Ecuadorian Andes—at an astonishing 3,100 meters above sea level—in the perfect environment to fully connect with nature and heal your body with the minerals coming from the center of the Earth. Across a road trail full of mountains, forests, villages and the Yanucay river, these natural pools will welcome you.
Nicely located natural hot springs, in between the mountains and next to a small river (where you can cool down in too). The property consists of 2 pools and a sauna with Eucalyptus leaves. Especially in the morning the place is very quiet. One of the owners (Alejandro) took very good care of me; I got a robe/towel, flipflops, tea, lemonade and hot chocolate whenever I wanted and a very nice freshly prepared pizza with mozzarella and pesto. Alejandro is very respectful to the environment and is happy to tell you more about the birds (including tucans) that fly around the property and the surrounding mountains. From Cuenca the place can best be reached by taxi or through a shuttle that can be arranged if you make a reservation (approx. 40min drive).

We arrived near 11am on a weekday. Super tranquil, quiet, plenty of pool space and seating around the pool. Advantage of not being the #1 rated place, but one that acts like it. We arranged our time for couples jacuzzi followed by massage and followed by our meal. In contrast to another reviewer (they likely listened to the feedback), we were shown where every facility was and how best to use them. By no means was it a walking tour, though. KEY ADVANTAGES: As opposed to other spas with a formal “circuit” that you go through in order once, we were free to take our time in any order we wished, skipping what we didn’t want or returning multiple times to some experience we really liked. No children! I love families, but a spa should feel like a spa. There is a fairly cheap thermal pool the takes kids right next door for a few$. As others said, the lockers are not secure. We combined our few necessary valuables to one purse and left it with reception with no troubles. I would say the food was a bit better at another nearby spa, but this doesn’t negate our experience and what’s more important. SUMMARY: Quiet. Total control over what experience to have. We had the diamond package for 2. I would go back for the $20pp and a la carte a few snacks and eat a full meal elsewhere. Add other services you wish. Recommend midweek days for flexibility, availability, and max the relax!
