Big Sky Resort

Big Sky Resort is closed for the winter season. We hope to see you summer 2020. This is Big Sky Resort, where 400 inches of powder fall on 5,800+ skiable acres and 4,350 vertical feet. Introducing two brand new Doppelmayr chair lifts as part of Big Sky 2025, our ten-year, $150-million investment at Big Sky. It’s the Biggest Skiing in America. But it’s not just getting bigger; it’s getting better. Vast diversity provides a big experience for every level. The only things that aren’t big are the lift lines, ensuring you get all the vertical you can handle. Unwind after a powder-filled day in luxurious slopeside accommodations so you can live big again tomorrow.

Really enjoyed the ski area...lots of different terrain and many untouched areas in powder days. Not as empty as we were led to believe but plenty of space!

Bridger Bowl

My husband and I bought a midweek ski package from Bridger Bowl. This included skiing at Bridger and staying at the Element in downtown Bozeman. We loved both experiences and highly recommend this package! Fern Corwin from Bridger coordinated the details. She was so kind and easy to contact and we even got to meet her in person when we were at Bridger. If you can get away for midweek skiing this is the BEST- no crowds, no lift lines, and lunch at Alpine cabin mid mountain. The Element has a lobby breakfast that is beautiful and bountiful and also a relaxing happy hour . We plan to return next winter.

My teenage son and my brother and I did a holiday break ski trip through Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota, mostly hitting the little independent places. We stayed in Jackson but skied Snow King and Grand Targhee instead of Jackson Hole. We skied the Tetons, the Bighorns, the Black Hills and Red Lodge. Of all of that, our two days in Red Lodge was my favorite. I was concerned that the lack of snow was going to severely limit what was available. Nope. True, two of the lifts were closed, but from what I understand that's not unusual... I've read that some seasons they don't open Palisades at all. But no matter. And I will confess that my skis were badly abused, but the terrain was so fun that I just needed to get into the less well covered portions of it. My favorite terrain was accessed from the top of Grizzly lift. There were plenty of black diamond mogul runs from there, a popular cruiser called Lazy M, and a nice blue mogul run (Barriers). A really enjoyable non-stop summit-to-base was to dodge moguls and rocks down Barriers, then duck through the trees in Little Forest. If you're looking for glamour, forget it. For me, I think that's what I liked about it.

The Yellowstone Club is a ski experience that sets the bar to the highest levels. The service is outstanding, the slopes groomed to perfection, on mountain dining excellent and the variety of terrain amazing. Our guide "Phatty" was a perfect combination of great skier, fun person and wonderful host. A unique ski facility like no other in North America.
