This resort area on the southern part of Gran Canaria has a laid-back, upscale vibe. You’ll find crystal-clear water perfect for snorkeling, a network of canals (which gave the town the nickname “Little Venice”), and a number of restaurants and bars along the pretty beach.

One of the best beaches on the island, it was developed with sand imported from the caribbean as part of the Anfi del Mar resort. It is a great place to spend time - made even better with less-crowded, socially distanced sunbeds when we visited.

I was reading Sapiens during my trip so visiting this museum makes it all relevant. Student ticket was only 2 euros so I got a good deal here. The site is so close to the beach and the bus station so if you take a trip to Puerto de Mogan, this is another activity you can consider. It is not a massive area so we managed to read and check out everything in 2 hours. The presentation was really interesting and took us on a time-travel trip of the island's history.

Well worth trek up, the sign you need to follow is shown in bottom right corner of main blue sign, the little black thing in the white square.

The municipality of Mogan is a short drive from Maspalomas as you head into the spectacularly beautiful mountains of the interior of Gran Canaria. In addition to the very cute windmill (which you can actually go inside for free), there are giant size kitchen utensils and enormous native desert places dotted all round, creating a really curious effect. Definitely one for your Instagram.
