At La Catedral (the Cathedral) you can seat outside at the benches, relax and see a typical hermosillo lifestyle (vendors and families), pigeons, kids playing around and relax (of course not when is 104 F degrees)! Inside the cathedral you´ll see a baroque, gothic revival and neoclassic style.

Palacio de Gobierno Sonora

Reviewed By SusanOrlo - Hermosillo, Mexico

I've been to the palace several times to show visitors the beautiful murals depicting the history of Sonora. I have gone here with a local Sonorense who has explained each mural to me. I wish that they had a sign or plaque by each section describing the historical event that is depicted. I would buy a book with this information with photos of these murals if it was available. As the murals need restoration I hope they are able to restore rather than paint over them.

Plaza Bicentenario

Reviewed By XenophonM - Athens, Greece

an interesting square, well designed on the occasion of 200 and 100 anniversaries of the Mexican revolutions (1810, 1910). The central building is interesting with a large but elegant sculpture with the Nike (victory) crowning the two most important heroes of Mexico. On the first floor it is an important collection of artifacts made by the local Indians that are on sale.
