An outstanding little gallery which bats well above its weight and is supported vigorously by local artists. It hosts a variety of exhibitions which are usually curated by the owner, Sandra McMahon. If you want to be surprised by artworks at the very high quality in such an unexpected setting, Weswal is the place to go.

The Gallery offers a rotating program of touring exhibitions of national significance, alongside curated exhibitions of works by regional artists and exhibitions from our permanent collection. Every year, Tamworth Regional Gallery delivers a rich and varied series of workshops, lectures, artist talks, events and engaging public programs. The Gallery houses purpose-built exhibition spaces, conservation collection storage, a retail shop, the Esther Halliday Studio and a research library, and is a fully accessible space. Tamworth Regional Gallery is the result of over 100 years of sustained support from our community, alongside forward planning and investment by Tamworth Regional Council.
This gallery, the second oldest in NSW(it turned 100 in 2019), boasts an impressive collection of art, both classic and contemporary, within its spacious and pleasant interior. It has frequent exhibitions featuring both regional artists and those from further afield. Well worth a visit.
