Roundham Head - South West Coast Path Walk

A wheelchair-friendly 1 mile walk on the South West Path around Paignton's Roundham Head, the hub of the town's sixteenth-century fishing industry. The headland's rocky red layered cliffs are topped with pines and sycamores. There are extensive views, northwards across Tor Bay and over Goodrington Sands to Brixham in the south. On a good day you can even see across Lyme Bay to Portland.

Wonderful views from Roundham Gardens on the cliff top - plenty of seats and nooks and crannies to take in the suns rays facing south

South West Coast Path - Brixham Breakwater

A gentle, predominantly level 0.6 mile walk from the South West Coast Path along the breakwater with panoramic views across the harbour and Torbay. There are two stretches of gradient. The harbour edge does not have a handrail or barrier. There are toilets and plenty of car parking at the start or end of the walk. A cafe provides both refreshments and a panoramic view of Torbay.

Built by the Americans for the launch of the D-day assault in 1944 (just visited after the 75th anniversary celebration) this Pier is very long and has distances marked along it for those enjoying the walk.

It’s says it’s a rock, that’s what it is. Photogenic. Why do people expect? Fraggles? Interesting shapes from different angles if you walk the coast path

Churston Cove

Reviewed By Milhouse2011 - Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

If you can handle the climbs and descents to get to this little treasure of a spot it is well worth it. It would make a great place to go snorkelling, sadly the weather was not on our side when we were there. Crystal clear waters, and wildlife in the shape of various sea birds and seals can be spotted.
