Located on the northeastern coast of the Samana Peninsula, Las Terrenas offers miles of protected inshore waters and beautiful, undeveloped white-sand-beaches, lined with tall palm trees and pastel-colored fishing boats. Trade winds and the warm temperature of the sub-tropical Atlantic Ocean bring this part of the island year-round balmy weather. With a year-round average of 77 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperatures vary only 18 degrees between summer and winter.

I rented two three bedroom apartments for a family vacation in May. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Everything was perfect from the bottled water provided, to the clear/clean pool and gorgeously landscaped grounds. The made to order breakfasts were outstanding! They also had plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, breads and freshly made juices. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I travel several times a year and frequently stay at high end hotels, this one is a gem, I highly recommend them!

I was so excited to bring my husband here to experience for the first time a all inclusive 5 star resort. I was disappointed at the quality of the food. One morning My kids wanted pancakes....the pancakes where undercooked and hard. The white rice was oily. The fish salty. I was told the wine comes in a bag..which makes sense why it tastes horrible. To make it short the food is not great at all. I was also upset that they hosted one of their night shows but there was not enough chairs so we ended up sitting on the floor with our kids. When I asked front desk and Public relations if they could bring over plastic chairs from the other entertainment areas they said no. I told them it's very disappointing to know that my family and I paid for luxury 5 star service and they have us sitting on the floor when they can clearly make an exception to accommodate their guests. So overall friends I wouldn't see this resort as a 5 star resort I would come with the expectation of a esthetically appealing resort on the outside but in reality more of a 2 or 2.5 star resort. Most of the staff is very nice. Specially entertainment staff and house keeping. Restaurant staff not so friendly. Sincerely room 26211 Thanks

Charming small residence directly on the marvelous beach of Coson. The residence was built with love and understanding of the natural beauty around it by it's owners. The long and crystal clear waters of Playa Coson and the evergreen of the mountains in the back makes this place unique and wonderful where you can spend your next holidays. Once here you will not want to leave... The main house has 4 private beachfront bedrooms. The Villa Colonial is a replica of a Victorian Style house with four bedrooms and private kitchen. It has been finely decorated with nice furniture and colorful tissues. In the back there is a magical round private Casita Mexicana. The swimming pool is in the middle of the residence. The garden has long chairs, hammocks, private seating with sun covers, tables to play chess or cards. There is also a first class restaurant that serves delicious juices, drinks and French, Italian and International cuisine. It also has a traditional oven for pizzas. You can enjoy a massage in the gazebos's garden or in your room or you can walk for four miles surrounded by hundreds of coconut trees, golden sand and refreshing water. What are you waiting for? Come join us...
Casa Coson is a very quiet and romantic boutique hotel. They have only a few rooms, so it is not crowded there. The beach and the garden are really beautiful. Staff is very friendly and the restaurant on the premises is also very good. Just be aware that the restaurant is closed on mondays.

This is the second time I've had a problem with the reception when trying to pay with my credit/debit card. When I gave the card to the young person working the desk, she took it and then told me it didn't work. I thought it was my card but was later told by the manager, Josephina, that the machine didn't work and she asked me to go the a ATM to get cash to pay my hotel bill. (The first time I experienced a little deception was last year when the receptionist wanted to keep my change as her "tip". Luckily my travel partner, a Dominican, was able to tell her she needed to give me my change from the cash I'd given her). Anyway, after I went to my room to check in, I returned to the reception area and told Josephina and her assistant that I was not going to an ATM machine and that I was always paid my bills via a debit card. Now when the young woman took the card and swiped it a second time, the credit card machine worked! It seems that if you pay with a credit/debit card, the taxes for the room is automically taken but if you pay cash, the taxes may or may not be credited. So my advise to anyone coming to this very nice facility: do not pay cash; always pay with your debit/credit card. Shame of management for allow this type of deception to take place with customers who may not know this.

Most horrible experience! the hotel is very expensive for just a room, food not included. The first night we went out to eat to the streets restaurants between 10:30pm and 1:00am hotels employees got inside our room and stole $2,200.00 US dollars and two cell phones, When we came back our luggages and bags were searched money and cell phones stolen. There is NO SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS onsite. No way to prove who went inside our room and took the money and 2 cell phones. We reported it to the hotel management and the Terrenas Police Department We are still waiting for a response on who was responsible for stealing us. Don't go to this place dangerous and unsafe!!
