“Wittenberg in Reformation times” – that is the theme of a special attraction in City of Luther. A 360° panorama (cyclorama) provides a lively evocation of Wittenberg at the time of Philipp Melanchthon, Cranach the Elder and the Younger, Katharina von Bora, Martin Luther and his fellow Reformer Justus Jonas. The panorama has a height of 15 meters and a circumference of 75 meters. Its accompanied by a special soundtrack and shows former Wittenberg life in night day shift.

"The heart of the city". Very large plaza with statues of Martin Luther and his 'student & defender' Philipp Melanchton. Beautiful, old, buildings surround. And, like many European cities, they were preparing for their Christmas festival when we visited in mid-November. We often hear that one European city (or the other) is very pretty.....it seems to me that Wittenberg is not one of them that I have heard......however, to my eyes, this is one of the prettiest that I have visited.
