Just about one hour drive from the Voi Safari Lodge towards the Manyana Gate, there is a small turn off leading to Mudanda Rock. You are allowed to park the Car and walk a few steps up to the top of the Rock. The amazing view with a huge waterhole full of wild live is the reward for the small walk.

Have your guide drive you up the bush tracks as close as you can get to the volcano. It was a massive eruption when it happened as evidence of extensive lava flows are everywhere. That being said, game is scarcer in this area because of the difficulty of animals to walk over the lava. Heavy bush country surrounds the flows and you can spot some exceptional birds and bush dwellers.

A beautiful part of town and so historic. Needs to be seen to be appreciated. Gorgeous park beside the tusks. Make sure you check out the bats on the trees in the park . I believe after dark the park comes alive with those animals. Very safe compared to the old town. Enjoy.

The place was decorated beautifully on that day.Army helicopters did a dance on water. We got to meet the president directly and Eliot Kipchoge (the person who broke the world record).Army women and men were shooting bullets into the sea, some came with huge dogs. When practising marching some soldiers carried some people around. The president gave a speech. The people who were marching (the scouts, rainbows, girl guides, rangers and many more) practised hard and woke up early. It was marvelous day for Kenya! Next time you want to travel put Kenya in your list, you won't regret it!

This railway, built in 1898 and dubbed the "Lunatic Line," divides Tsavo National Park into East and West. This is where several lions, the "Maneaters of Tsavo," devoured 140 railway workers before Lt. Col Patterson managed to kill them. The film 'The Ghost and the Darkness', was based on Patterson's story.
