If you need a word to perfectly describe New Forest, “welcoming” would be it. The lowland (i.e. no mountains) park is filled with scenic views and wide trails that beg to be explored as they wind through centuries-old woodlands. Visit Bolderwood, a protected forest and deer sanctuary that was once the hunting grounds of the Norman kings. Fish at Moors Valley before heading skyward for a treetops walk. Prefer the country-house life? Head to Beaulieu, where you can get lost in the Victorian-era at the Palace House before following in the footsteps of medieval monks at the property’s abbey.

Due to a change in career circumstances the opportunity arose to finally do something I have been passionate about for over fifteen years. Woodturning Tuition in the form of individual lessons, and day courses. My first Lathe was a long bed VB36 Hegner Lathe which I have now had for over 15 years. All my lathes are suitable for beginners and have been fitted with safety foot switches and 'bang off' buttons just in case you need to stop the lathe in an emergency.
I am Jonathan a member of the Association Of Pole Lathe And Green Woodworker, I specialise in green wood spoon carving using a simple tools and bowl turning on a traditional pole lathe. All my wood is sourced locally from wind fallen trees or trees cut down for ecological reasons.
Hi.. I discovered Needle Felting 5 years ago and I am totally hooked! Now a member of The International Feltmakers Association I have been teaching Needle Felting here in the New Forest, incorporating local wool and materials (where possible) to small groups of people to allow great support and inclusiveness. Every workshop has lots of instruction, creativity, fun and laughter with tea and cake too!!! This is a fantastic craft that will leave you wanting more!!!
