This 117 mile road follows old toll, stagecoach and rail routes that were important supply lines for silver and gold mining camps of the late 1800's. It starts at South Fork, goes through Creede and Lake City all the way to Gunnison. The views are varied with waterfalls, rivers, mountains, trees and valleys. This was a beautiful drive especially during our visit in October seeing the fall colors of the aspen leaves.

Creede is located where the road ends and the trail begins. Creede ATV gives you the best way to get off the beaten path and explore the federal lands that make up 96% of our county. Your adventure will start at the edge of town as you climb to the continental divide and beyond. Splash through high mountain streams, enjoy the mountain air and the thrill of the ride.
Scenic views of the Rio Grande River Valley are visible for the first few miles of the trip. The 9.4-mile scenic and relatively remote gravel road climbs through spruce/fir/aspen timber to beautiful rolling, grassy, subalpine parks and passenger car travel ends at Hanson's Saw Mill (pit toilet). The road begins on the north side of CO-194, approximately 7.3miles SE of Creede.
