Clifton Country Park

This park is a real hidden gem. To get to the park, you drive along some thin roads but it is definitely worth it. The car park is large and has a secondary park as you go through the underpass. The cafe/visitor centre in the car park is very useful. As you walk along the path towards the lake you go past a kids playground which looks good but not used due to the pandemic at the moment. There is lots of grassy space on the way to the lake including a selection of picnic benches around the walk. From this main path, there is a variety of different paths to choose from including wider gravel paths easy for baby buggies or woodland walks. Lots of routes with different lengths around the lake and it even has lots of wooden sculptures from the Irwell sculpture trail for the kids to find. I live around the corner and hadnt realised this gem of a park was here and will definitely be back again and cant recommend it enough.

First time visit and was really impressed. The tar path all the way around the reservoir was clean & tidy. The views across the water were lovely and the sun was shining - a bonus.

Worsley woods

Enchanting place to walk, especially in autumn when the leaves change colours. Muddy in parts, so definitely bring appropriate footwear.

Great park, full of beautiful trees. There is a pavilion that open a few days a week with hot drinks, next to the community allotments. Very friendly and welcoming.
