Northeast Florida's premier Private, member-owned club located in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Nestled in a private, gated community Sawgrass Country Club is a lifestyle that includes 27 holes of golf, 13 tennis courts, Fitness Center with heated pool and an oceanfront Beach Club with adult lounging pool, family pool, outdoor dining decks, Oasis bar and ocean views from every venue.
I joined Sawgrass Country Club in July,2001 when I moved to Ponte Vedra Beach from the Philadelphia area. It was a life-changing choice. Everything is top notch - the 27 holes of golf (former home of The Players before TPC Sawgrass was built), the beautiful Beach Club and everything in between (tennis, fitness, recreation, etc.). Best of all are the people who make up the membership and staff. Very accomplished people but no pretentiousness. I can't believe I've been at the Club 18 years and I can't believe how special and enjoyable it has been so far. Very lucky. If you're a Boomer, moving this way, you should check out Sawgrass Country Club.

After visiting this area for the last year I finally took the time to visit bird Island Park sanctuary in Ponta Vedra beach. It’s it’s own little world just next to the Ponte Vedra library and Winn-Dixie. Lovely small walking park that welcomes dogs and children too ( wonderful playground for kids). The boardwalk allows you to literally walk on water and observe birds in their natural habitat. Many of the trees are also marked as to what species they are; definitely deserves a stop to escape from every day life. Please be sure to keep your dog on the leash and pick up any special deliveries as well

The Reserve was established in 1999 as a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) System and is one of three NERRs in Florida. The Reserve staff manage the Guana Dam parking area, three beach lots (north, middle, and south), a trail system, the EEC, and a field office in Marineland, Florida. The Reserve’s 73,256 acres also includes Guana River Wildlife Management Area, Deep Creek State Forest, Stokes Landing Conservation Area, Fort Matanzas National Monument, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, Faver-Dykes State Park, Moses Creek Conservation Area, Pellicer Creek Conservation Area, Princess Place Preserve, and the River to Sea Preserve, all of which are managed by separate agencies. The Reserve is an important economic, ecological, and educational resource for local communities. The estuary provides valuable ecological services such as a nursery, storm protection, flood protection, oyster habitat, and water quality. Its health is fundamental to the survival of endangered ocean species such as the North Atlantic right whale (Eubalaena glacialis) and sea turtles. These resources provide economic opportunities in the form of fishing, recreational businesses, and jobs. As a NERR, the Reserve conducts scientific research, stewardship activities, and educational programs. Some of the unique aspects of this Reserve are its rich cultural history, location by the first city in America, pristine and quiet beaches, and diverse habitats.
We took the orange path. Beautiful walk through plenty of nature. The whole park is very clean a well kept. So glad we found this place.

Really nice beach with public entrance. Best to enter here and go to the right and camp out a good walk away from public access area. Less crowded. There are no life guards so be careful. Best at lower tides as it's safer. Right by the public access it's very crowded and the public bathrooms aren't great to say the least. But this beach is nicer then the Ponta Vedra Beach which is 30 minute walk away.

Probably one of the loveliest beaches I've ever seen. There are beautiful homes on one side, and the rolling Atlantic on the other. Great for collecting a wide array of sea shells or watching pelicans skim along the surface of the ocean. Perfect for long walks or a lazy day in the sun!
