Petrifying Springs Park

Reviewed By GLVB - Racine, United States

This beautiful nature escape is a public park that has hiking, off-road biking trails, pavilions, a beer garden, play areas, and a golf course. It is lush and landscaped where needed but rustic overall. There is a beautiful spring the flows through the park and people regularly gather water from it at a location where it is set up to do so. There are ball diamonds and a sand volleyball court as well. The location is adjacent to the University of Parkside and there are times when you can see their athletic teams working out. Overall, what a great escape in an area close to more urban areas. Enjoy.

Simmons Island Beach

We visited for a family reunion, so our group included senior citizens, young adults, and small children. Both days we were there - Friday and Saturday - the beach was clean and not crowded. There was also a “pop up” beer garden near the old bath house, so food and drinks were close. We have been to Kenosha several times, but this was our first visit to this beach. We will return! It was beautiful!
