Visit in mid August to catch the pink ladies and cannas in bloom. The trails are well maintained. Walk through the gardens or the woods. No need to hurry. Both peaceful and beautiful. The fox squirrels are not at all afraid of visitors. I can't wait to come back in different seasons to see what else is blooming.

A buddy and I reserved the cabin, operated by the marina which is part of the Muskingum Watershed, for a three day fishing trip. Our first day was spent on a lake north of there so we had to drive to the cabin later that evening. I called and informed them of this and they indicated they would leave the door open since we would be there after the marina closed. Not only was the door open but the heat was turned up on a very cold evening and the light was left on so we could see as we entered the cabin. This was very considerate of them. The cabin was nice with all the bare essentials needed. If you do visit please be sure to review the website info since you have to bring certain items such as bath towels. We fished for the second day and late in the day we learned that a severe cold front was coming in that evening which would have a negative effect on the type of fishing we do. We decided not to stay the second evening and informed the staff at the marina. Since they were very familiar with fishing conditions and understood our decision, they refunded our second nights fee. To do this on such short notice was outstanding. Due to this we have already decided to return and stay in early spring for another 2 or 3 day fishing trip. These guys were also very knowledgeable of the lake and fishing conditions and offered us numerous insights. These guys were great.

We rode this trail while on a one night stop in Cambridge. A few well marked road and driveway crossings along the seven mile route. The trail follows a creek. There is a large wetland area, we noticed a couple of benches and possibly duck blinds facing the wetland. There is a playground where the trail passes through Lore, OH. If biking with kids, this is a good halfway spot to run around and have a snack. I was impressed with the good condition of the trail, ample parking and the ease of finding the trail. The trailhead is minutes off the highway. This would be a great destination when visiting Cambridge or Salt Fork State Park.

As one of the largest animal conservation sites in the US, this place was an amazing experience to see endangered species conservation in an environment that replicates many of the animals natural ecosystems. However, it was not just about the animals! 10,000 acres of Coal Strip Mined area has become a class room for how to restore a damaged landscape's soil, plant, water and animal environments. Plus with Zip Line, Horse Back and Fishing excursions, there is lot of fun to be had to. I the overnight accommodations were diverse and well appointed. From Yurts for the adventuresome to Large family and group accommodations; this place has it all.

The 20,000 acres of Ohio's largest state park include a 3,000-acre lake and a 2,500-foot beach.
Today was a beautiful experience at the park. We stopped at the lodge to visit the gift shop. They have delightful quilling cards and other unique items. At the front desk Tricia was very helpful as we were hiking. She showed us multiple hikes and gave us directions. We had done some research but she added the hike adjacent to the lodge which led us past the cabins and another marina. In addition we did the Sadbush and crowed paths with horses. The Stone House Loop and Hosak’s Cave were nice hikes too. Blue skies and kind fellow hikers made for an excellent day. Few people on the trails and all were patient and willing to share the views. There is an option to drive to the Stone House Loop. In normal times there is also a free canoe trip to the Stone House. Better to look for that in 2021. The delightful caretaker at the Stone House was chatty with visitors. We struck up a conversation regarding the sun dial. The trails were all dry and easy to hike. Very little water in the creek bed of Hosak’s Cave and none coming over the falls as it has been dry lately. The hikes made for an amazing outdoor experience today. We packed a lunch and enjoyed a picnic too.
