Best known for its Festival Cervantino, an arts festival that draws attendance from around the world, Guanajuato is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its old town dates back to the 16th century, and you can visit many of Mexico’s important religious and artistic sites. Guanajuato was also home to the Mexican independence movement and the site of the first failed rebellion against colonial rule.

This was one of the most fun activities I did in Guanajuato. We walked from our apartment - from the edge of town it's about 75 minutes up to the top, and it gets rocky and requires scrambling towards the summit. There was also a pack of wild goats, a cross and a Virgin Mary at the top. Great views of the whole valley, although the city itself looks far away. There are a few caves along the way that are cool resting spots.

This was a nice little park area that we visited several time in Guanajuato, there is a fabulous bakery nearby called Panaderia de la luna. It had really great tasting and very fresh baked good. We also loved the juice stand right across the street. We also had some delicious Tacos al vapor here as well. The trees and benches make it a nice place to sit and enjoy all the great food.
