Piece and Tranquillity. Gauja is beautiful! Recommended to go during the week days ( less people) We went on Monday. Left car in Sigulda Pludmale ( Camping Site on the beach near the bridge & Tartzan fun park)./ Had a ride to Ligatne and started our trip down the river back to Sigulda ( trip 6hrs, but there is a choice of shorter distances) You don't need to row much, as the river had strong current and takes you with it. Stopped for a swim on the beautiful sandy beaches. Child still had energy to go on the rides at Tarzan. Don't forget suncream and a hat :) P.S. This trip can be done for free if you have your own boat/ kayak and a lift .

I've been quite a few bogs, but this is probably the best one. It is extraordinary to walk along the bog trail after the snow. What a distinctive landscape.

Special well-equipped rest park is located in picturesque place on the bank of the Daugava River on the territory of Daugavas Loki Nature Park. It is possible to organize a wide range of activities in the park. There are children’s playgrounds, outdoor grills, tables, terraces, benches etc. Several tourist groups can visit the park at the same time.

The Sigulda Cable car offers a ride over the Gauja valley, enjoying the view of a wonderful landscape over a distance of multiple kilometres. In a height of 43 m above ground the Sigulda Cable car connects both sides of the river Gauja in a width of 1020 m and excites with an excellent old valley of Gauja, three medieval castles – Sigulda, Turaida and Krimulda, and the Bobsleigh Track and Gauja bridge. The Sigulda Cable car is the oldest such type vehicle in the Baltic States. Welcome to a ride above tree tops!
