The new vue at the Barbican is totally fantastic , electric reclining seats , friendly staff , great priced tickets , a bowling ally and restaurants in the same complex, free parking , good priced food and drinks for kids , prices not so good for adults , take your own , I would definitely recommend it other than that , total upgrade on the old place

Cineworld Plymouth

Reviewed By andytV9283NN - Dudley, United Kingdom

On a visit to Plymouth before Christmas my granddaughter and I went to watch the latest Star Wars film at the newly opened Cineworld. We watched the film in 4DX 3D and boy what an experience it was. Neither of us had been to a cinema before with this type of viewing. We entered the auditorium and saw row upon row of beautiful comfy seats in groups of 5. We made our way to our seats once found you have to step up into the seat as it's raised off the floor. Once sat we look at the control on the arm rest which was water on or off we looked at each other and new it would be water on. During the adverts before the film there is shown a few times a list of what to expect and what is likely to happen as well as a long list of do's and don'ts. Not knowing what to expect we waited with excitement for the film to start. Anybody that has watched Star Wars will know that the is a rolling story of what has happened so far at this point I noticed a very slight lifting of the seat going backwards and then as true to form when the story had finished the camera pans down and so does the seat, wow our awesome journey began. Throughout the film we are thrown around, moved from side to side up and down and had water sprayed at us, smoke and smells appeared now and again. We came out of there feeling like we had flown miles, sailed in rough seas and had the best experience of our lives and been thoroughly entertained. It is an experience that has to be done as it's difficult to put into words so if you have the chance (yes it is more expensive but well worth it) then go and be thrilled beyond belief.
