This was the trip of a lifetime. Everything from the arrival on was wonderful. The guides made sure we saw and experienced lots of bear activity safely. The staff was excellent and each meal was SO good. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!!

Spent three days, with a bonus due to weather. Outstanding bear viewing. Did some fishing, but it was towards end of season, so slow and some were changing, but a lot of catching, releasing, some for home. The landscape is simply awesome. Everything is first class, from the guide who is with you whenever you leave the camp to the accommodations in this fly in location to the outstanding food and beverages. If you don't have it ask, as it will probably appear. It's wonderful, if you like nature, fishing, and wildlife.

We stayed two nights here and had a lifetime experience with lovely bears and their cubs up close for photographing and videographing. We went out for bear viewing four times (before breakfast, morning, afternoon & evening) every day, watching bears and cubs feeding, running and playing. As an experienced photographer, I think the settings were perfect for taking photos and videos in best possible lighting conditions. The room was very comfortable. The owner James is extremely friendly and hospitable, and highly responsive to our pre-trip inquiries. We were really impressed by delicious meals and a 3-course dinner freshly made by a chef on-site each day. We are very happy to have made this choice for our photography trip in Lake Clark National Park.

We highly recommend a visit to Redoubt Bay Lodge for a true Alaska wilderness experience. My husband and I stayed at Redoubt Bay Lodge for three nights. The small staff - Kiara, Sam, Kyle, Morgan and Michael - were professional, enthusiastic and genuinely friendly. They were up for fishing, bear viewing, kayaking, and sightseeing whenever we wanted. No strict time schedule here! Michael, the chef, not only created delicious meals, he took pride in the food’s presentation. Weather prevented us from arriving to Redoubt the first day, but the owner, Kelly, contacted us and asked if we were able to tack on a day at the end of our trip. After a few changes, we were in! There are not many places would make such an offer. This lodge and the people working here were amazing. We left with many wonderful memories.

We are located in Chinitna Bay, in some of the only private land in Lake Clark National Park. We offer overnight accommodations, as well as daily bear viewing trips. We have private cabins, with modern conveniences. Departures from Nikiski, Kenai, Soldotna, Anchorage and Homer are available depending on weather and air transportation scheduling, be sure to contact us with your needs.
I am half way through my 2 week trip to AK with 5 others and this is the best place I have slept so far of 4 places along the road. We were lucky enough to get the room with the bathroom. There was a nice surprise for us in the refrigerator as we arrived. I made pancakes and eggs from the surprise the second morning. This space was very clean and offered a comfortable place for all. Thank you!

We arrived with great expectations for a stay in the wilderness of Alaska. We purchased a fishing license anticipating great fishing and wild life viewing. After a short float plane flight from Anchorage via Lake Clark we arrived to find a small lodge on the banks of a very small lake. Our very basic cabin had a very uncomfortable bed, no running water or toilet and was chilly with no firewood to light the fire. There was only one building in the complex which had a single shower and toilet in it but alas no hot water until the system was lit later in the day. I found this unacceptable and inadequate for multiple guests. Who wants to walk quite a distance to the toilet in the middle of the night when there are meant to be bears around. Jeff the owner was very nice and accommodating but notified us on arrival that the food had not arrived on the plane as expected but he did scratch up an reasonable meal. The next day my husband (an experienced fly fisherman) rowed from one end of the small lake to the other and up the tributaries and saw very little sign of any life in the lake at all. Jeff took me from one end of the lake to the other in his small boat and we again saw very little sign of fish or any other wildlife. Coming from New Zealand where there are so many economical cabins and lodges and so many lakes to fish in we found Little Mulchatna very disappointing. The cost of the return flight there from Anchorage was over NZ$2000. We checked out the second day after pre-paying our accommodation for 5 days as it was so disappointing. We did not see a bear or any other wild life there except for some birds and the odd salmon at the far end of the lake. On our return journey we met numerous people who had been fishing at Lake Clarke and caught so may fish they returned most of them to the lake. If you are after wild like viewing and good fishing there are better choices available without the expensive flights and substandard accommodation.
