A paradise in nature, a charming hotel owned by the family Reveron. Built in 2004 is a hotel with very spacious rooms all overlook Natural Park of Forest Corona del Teide. Located at 1500 meters altitude in the town of Vilaflor has a full spa and gym. Ideal for people looking for rest, nature in a unique environment surrounded by multiple paths.
Worst ever treatment
Reviewed By Matteo_LesinigoWe were looking for a restaurant in Vilaflor, and reached the reception as per indication on the gate of the restaurant. The lady saw us but was busy in a conversation and did not ask anything to us. As we supposed that the other person was a customer we waited 10 minutes before asking if we could go to the restaurant. We were told to wait 1 minute while she finished with the other customer. After 10 more minutes she said that the restaurant was full. 20 minutes to be told to go to another place. Never happened to me before.

Reviewed By Jen LThis hotel is well located when you spend your day at Teide National Park. The hotel has an enjoyable spa and a great restaurant. Carlotta was extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent value for price! We were kind of disappointed by the village of Vilaflor as we were expecting something charming, but El Tejar made our stay an experience we did not regret!

Reviewed By Roger SThe hotel has been recently refurbished by the new owners. I stayed here with a group, and it was an ideal, tranquil location. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and Covid procedures were strictly followed. The rooms are simple, clean and modern, each with a terrace overlooking the vineyards or the surrounding countryside, which are a riot of colour with wildflowers in spring. There is lots of outdoor seating in the bar area, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped with local plants. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The buffet breakfast was varied and good. The restaurant was not open in the evenings when we stayed, but there are several restaurants within a few minutes walk (it's a steep walk back up the hill!). Vilaflor is a beautiful old mountain town around 1400m altitude, just below the pine forests, and away from the tourist bustle of the coast. It is a great centre for exploring the higher parts of the volcanic island, and is one of the main vineyard area on Tenerife. I would definitely stay here again.

TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS - an utter disgrace!
Reviewed By 118iannisgTO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. The pictures are extremely deceiving. As a solo traveller I got stuck in the "Gomera" room, a dank and dark little room without windows and hardly any ventilation except for the door, which gave out to the entrance, meaning the room was extremely noisy to boot. There was no real room to store my luggage, the bed was attached to the wall and the bedpost was broken, and after one day it was impossible to get the smells out. Showering was icky: the shower curtain and the shower walls had large mould stains on them and the mat was smelly. In the shared spaces the furniture is worn and splintery: I wanted to use one of the tables and one of the legs almost broke off. And one night, when I came back from a restaurant, there was a mouse skirting in and out at the front door. The owners were nowhere to be seen. AN UTTER DISGRACE. If people don't bother with even minimal maintenance, they shouldn't open a hotel. There must be far better options in Vilaflor.

Our small family run guest house provides B&B for hikers families and visitors to nearby Mount Teide. We are situated overlooking the village plaza with its fountains and flowerbeds and statue of Vilaflor's patron saint Hermano Pedro just above to the right is the 17th Century church named in his honour. We have 6 ensuite rooms all of them have central heating which is powered by an Eco friendly Biomass boiler. The building dates back to the 18th century and we have tried to keep the decor to suit this period. Outside there is a heated pool and a hot tub and we are installing a sauna room at the end of March 2015. There are numerous sunbeds and seating to enjoy the sun. Inside there are several wheelchair friendly rooms with wide doors on the ground floor. A small fitness room with a table tennis table and a pool table free for guests to use on the 1st floor. On the ground floor there is a guest lounge with an open fire for chilly winter evenings and a small kitchenette for heating food and drinks. We have links with local hiking guides and fitness coaches and also organise holidays for guided hikes, bike tours of the island and fitness holidays along with birdwatching and night sky tours to Mount Teide all these can be booked through our email address.

Reviewed By shinycarol1We booked 2 nights b&b in two rooms and on arrival paid for them. One room’s only window was onto the main corridor. The whole place was shabby not chic! Broken items in the lounge which appeared like the rest of the ‘hotel’ to be a collection of unrelated articles. One lamp in the lounge was unusable as the plug had been cut off. The lounge was dirty and dingy with insufficient light. Our host disappeared after check in and we had to answer the doorbell to a couple looking for accommodation later that evening. This was not boutique standard. Breakfast was buffet but unappetising and no water available to refill kettle although earlier the host did appear to say we could access breakfast. Unfortunately one member of the group had become ill and had to leave on that morning. As we were travelling together we all checked out. We asked for some reimbursement especially as we would not receive the next breakfast. The pool area was roped off and unusable. The bar outside closed and filthy. We never received any refund and would advise people to use other establishments in Vilaflor. Will not return.
