Sa Bisbal occupies a building of significant architectural interest. It was constructed in the XVII century, being located in the most privileged place of Selva, at the top of the town next to the gothic church of Sant Llorenç which itself dates from the year 1301. For a long time the building was the residence of noble families of Majorca. The actual owner has restored all the building giving back all its character and original splendour. Some of the more remarkable architectural elements include the portal fora constructed with perfectly fitted stone blocks and the original cub de vi, which was used for the fermentation of the grape in producing wines. In the cellar excavated in the rock, the wine was stored in barrels. The stone stairs are one of the oldest and most valuable architecturally enchanting elements of the house. In keeping with the Majorcan gothic style, Sa Bisbal retains in its large windows the conopial carved stone arcs. In the patio is the aljub, a characteristic element of the Mediterranean culture, which still today collects rainwater. Sa Bisbal has six rooms and each is unique in both its design and decoration. They have all the amenities - bathroom, air conditioning and heating, TV, and have varying views of the Serra de Tramuntana, the north coast of the island and the neighbouring villages. Room 1 is a twin bedded room and is accessed from the garden and terrace. Room 2 (junior suite) is more spacious and has two balconies on the facade. Its decor is elegant. The views from this room are spectacular covering the entire north coast of the island and the sea, and up to 4 villages. This room has a double bed. Room 3 (junior suite) is also very spacious, with a double bed and has its own terrace overlooking the garden, the neighbouring church and the Serra de Tramuntana. Room 4, with its wood beamed ceiling looks over the garden. It has twin beds. Room 5 is a little smaller, but very cosy, with a double bed and enjoys wonderful views. Room 6 (junior suite) has a double bed and is on the top floor of the house. A feature is its wooden mansard roof and large windows with views to the Serra de Tramuntana and the bell tower of the Church. It has its own terrace. A buffet breafast is served between 8am and 10am in our restaurant, Es Portal de Tramuntana, which is in the main square, just 50 metres or so from the hotel.
Beautiful old Mallorcan building in Selva – lots of honey stone, marble floors, high ceilings, elegantly furnished. Rooms spacious with decent toiletries. We had a cute balcony with a view across the village and right next to the church tower. Pool and hot tub and garden areas gorgeous - exactly as shown on their website. Only downside the lack of management and slightly weak buffet breakfast (taken at the sister hotel across the road) compared to the other four ‘boutique’ hotels we visited on this trip. This was the only one of the four that was entirely self-service. But great location and superb architecture.

Recently opened this new hotel offers a simple service at a good price The rooms are really lovely with super beds and very modern bathrooms. everything is very comfortable. There is some road noise so probably better for one night or short stays. A nice breakfast was also included. The hotel has no front desk and it is a good idea to have the contact number to call as we didnt get a response from the intercom

Can Cota Suites & Spa is in a unique location and has exclusive services to create an unforgettable experience.
We absolutely loved our stay here. I couldn’t fault the hotel at all, it’s truly magnificent. We were greeted by a member of staff (Toni I think) he was extremely helpful and gave us a guided tour of the hotel. Our room was out of this world! We had a suite with a terrace. The room was extremely clean and the shower was huge! Breakfast was fresh and was made by their great staff. The hotel had an honesty bar full of drinks and snacks! We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. We hired a car and parking was no problem. Thanks again for making our stay so wonderful Can Cota.

Miri and Jens have created something that has to be experienced to be believed. She creates her food through and with her artistic talent encompassing cross cultural and cross country influences. A must for all foodies whether vegan vegetarian or committed meat and fish eaters. Perfect for kids too. Animals all around. Also perfect for a romantic evening.
