We stayed end of May to beginning of June for a 2 week family holiday. Family of 5, children ranging from 4 to 15 years. Best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Plenty of room and modern facilities. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa - with 4 outdoor areas, 3 toilets, 2 showers and jacuzzi bath. Salema beach is 500m downhill and is stunning. Beach is flat and clean, water calm with lots of fish. There are a number of restaurants in the small village but are good quality with lots of fresh fish on the menu. Staff at the village were always pleasant and went out of their way to be accommodating. The food in the pool bar is nice. We found prices to eat out were similar to the UK, therefore expect to pay around 40- 60 euros for lunch and around 80 to 160 euros for dinner with wine. We used the swimming pool a number of times but it was cold! Once you got into it, it was okay though. There are small tennis courts but you have to pay to use them. Two of our sons enjoy playing tennis, so we used these facilities and the youngest used the playground. All well maintained and clean. Overall if you are looking for good quality accommodation, friendly staff, quiet location (if you want to explore the Algarve, hire a car) and access to a stunning, non crowded beach, book the Salema Beach Village, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to all staff members for making our holiday special, you are all a credit to the Village.

Romantik Villa is a charming and small appart hotel with 5 suites on a wonderful designed garden with large pool and view to the ocean. We wish to privilege the relaxation, the rest and the calm of our guests in an enchanting frame, that is the reason why we do not welcome the children, nor the animals in our establishment. We offer 5 suites: - Suite n°1 : "Praia do Castelejo" on garden with terrace and small ocean view. - Suite n°2 : "Praia das Furnas" on garden with terrace and small ocean view. - Suite n°3 : "Praia da Luz" on garden with terrace and small ocean view. - Suite n°4 : "Praia da Figueira" with terrace and direct access to the pool. - Suite n°5 : "Praia da Salema" with amazing view overlooking the ocean. Welcome home ...
Clearly in my opinion this is the best place to stay in Salema. Olivier is the perfect host and Papaya his side-kick is such a cute beautiful Golden Retriever. The room came with a bottle of wine and fresh warm pastry's every morning for breakfast. The room was large with a small kitchen. Extremely clean and a beautiful view of the town of Salema below. Ample parking, beautiful pool. This is a great place, and if after reading all the 5 star reviews it's obvious that Romantik Villa is the finest place to stay in Salema regardless of TA's scoring system. Restaurants within walking distance too. I wish I had the time to go back and stay a couple of weeks in the summer as I am sure it's absolutely phenomenal.

This magical part of the Algarve is steeped in history, culture and astounding beauty. Commanding breathtaking scenery, it is the perfect place to escape and enjoy a richly deserved holiday in the sun, far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. SAResorts enjoy a marvelous location between Lagos and Sagres, and one step away from Natural Park of Costa Vicentina. The View is Vigia’s stunning luxury resort. Located in the western Algarve, it commands breathtaking ocean views; overlooking a traditional Portuguese fishing village with secluded golden beach, lapped by turquoise seas. The resort boasts communal pools, a cafe bar and reception. Accommodation comprises 55 deluxe linked villas that are impeccably furnished, each containing everything you could possibly require during your stay with us. All the Parque da Floresta facilities will be available, including the free and unlimited access to Spa (pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath) and several discounts in the other services.
First time visiting Portugal and wanted a quiet and peaceful holiday. We travelled as a group of 5 girls and stayed in apartment 20. The transfer from Faro Airport was just over an hour. The grounds of The View itself are lovely, clean and well maintained. Our apartment was lovely, it had three balconies, kitchen with everything you needed to cook, comfy beds and clean bathrooms with hot water. There were also books, boardgames, toiletries and other basic things provided. It had a rooftop terrace with sunbeams and a BBQ was also provided which was a nice touch! Really happy with the accommodation and would recommend and go again. We were located at the top of a large hill - wouldn't recommend The View for people with mobility issues - and it was confusing as there are SO many apartments, it was confusing which were part of the View and which weren't. The View is located near a beach, which was lovely and not overly busy and provides watersports, massages and snacks. At the bottom of the hill there are two supermarkets, one which sells fresh baked goods every morning, and fresh fruit and fish are also available. There is a small selection of restaurants, which offer fresh fish, pizza, meats etc however apart from that there is nothing else around. Its the perfect place if you want to escape from life, and an ok place as a base to explore - however you would need to hire a car. The only confusing issue was the fact that the 'Golf & Spa' were part of another resort an hour away, and even our taxi driver got the two confused. We were given wristbands for the spa, however didn't fancy the hour or so drive to have to go and explore this. The complex itself would benefit from a restaurant and even a bar and could make so much more money! The View itself wasn't even that busy which was lovely. A lovely stay, however slightly confusing between the two complex's but would stay again! Staff all lovely and helpful :)
