We had a really lovely stay in Puivert! Our room was nice, shower and sink were part of the room, the private toilette was outside the room down the stairs. Nice gardens, dinner and breakfast were tasty. Cute bar about 50m from the hotel. We would recommend!

The tiny hamlet of Camp Sylvestre where this accommodation is located is about 5km from Puivert. There are perhaps 10-12 houses in the hamlet which is surrounded by farmland. The vistas are wide open and the views are superb. Puivert is an attractive larger village with a Cathar castle, a lake and an English microbrewery among other things. Two of us were walking the Cathar Way. We got to Puivert and Pascal picked us up and took us back to La Cocagniere where we met his wife, Marie-Sophie. Pascal & Marie's house together with a separate wing of guest rooms were renovated about three years ago. Everything is to the highest standard and the guest rooms are wonderful. The house and guest rooms face on to a garden with a swimming pool. We had a delicious supper in the house with Pascal, Marie and one of their friends who was staying in a guest room. We all got by happily in a mixture of English and French. We also had breakfast in the house the next morning. Marie-Sophie made us a picnic for our walk and gave us a lift back to the Cathar Way. This is a lovely place and well worth a major diversion to enjoy the accommodation, hospitality and home-cooked food.

Two years after a first enjoyable stay, it was lovely to be welcomed back by Sue and Tony. As before, one’s every comfort has been considered , with the added reassurance of the care they take with Covid precautions. It’s a beautiful place with caring hosts. My hire car developed a flat tyre warning, Tony dealt with the underinflated tyre on the spot. Sue knows just the places to suggest one one would like to visit. I can’t recommend Bonnes Saisons highly enough. It's just the place to relax: crisp bed linen , a view of the stars from one's own patio, the swimming lake behind the house and a perfect breakfast. Roll on next year!

Green Horizons is a unique house in Puivert in the Languedoc, South of France. Set in 6 acres of beautiful park and woodland, with swimming pool and poolside summer kitchen. Combining tranquillity and beauty with easy access to Puivert village, castle, swimming lake and beach, and a wide range of activities, Green Horizons offers comfort and a warm welcome for individuals, couples or families.
It all started with our really friendly host Ruth who took care her visitors on a daily basis. She gave us good tips on how to get by the highlights of the region. She made the place feel like home. My husband and I had an amazing holiday here. We slept for 9 nights in a well-equipped bell tent (double bed with sheets, couch, a few nightstands with nightlight, soft carpet on the floor, towels ...) surrounded by nature. You can choose whether to do your own thing where you have your own privacy or socialize with other guests, families and volunteers coming around which we had some inspiring talks with. The weather is warm during the day but cool enough during the night to sleep comfortably in the tent. We also loved the pool, which is taken care of daily (super clean!), and outside kitchen with everything you need (from cuttlery, gas fire to a built-in barbecue). Apart from that there are plenty of spots on the property to sit and relax (e.g. hammocks). On top of that the Puivert village was nice for some basic food and drinks and we also explored the surroundings. If you need a vacation to leave all stress behind but still want to get some highlights in the region... this is it ?

The Chambres d'hotes du Lac Perdu is a family-run bed and breakfast set in beautiful, rural southwest France. It is owned and run by Anglo-Irish couple Patsy and Bob Yorke, who speak French and German between them as well as English. If you like France, the food, the wine, the relaxed atmosphere and the warm climate. then you will love this part of the world.
Our hosts were charming and nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure we had a lovely comfortable stay. The accommodation is well situated for walking, cycling and hang-gliding too! But also is a lovely spot just to sit and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds. There is a pleasant walk up to the local chateau and swimming in the beautiful lake nearby. Rooms are spacious, well equipped with what you need, beautifully clean with white linen bedding and just right to accommodate families or small group of friends. The single traveller or couple are just as easily comfortably accommodated. We'll be back!
