In the remarkable Salt storehouse of the medieval city of Perugia, dating back to 1536, we have five rooms, three of which are air-conditioned, with modern comforts and careful decoration in the medieval style, to welcome our guests, lovers of "old stones".
Beautiful, eclectic rooms; sumptuous, local breakfast; generous hosts; perfect location. The hosts were very kind with our children, and always had a pot of hot chocolate ready for them at breakfast. Having an aperitif on our room’s patio that overlooks the city walls was magical.

Let us take you on a journey through time... Our bedrooms are located in various houses around the city, depending on whether you prefer the rustic or medieval style, and sometimes... a canopy bed ! The inn has a closed, free, private car park, within the city, or a garage can be available too. Free wifi in most of the rooms. About the restaurant, a cosy atmosphere combines old-fashioned elegance with refined food and service. Separate dining rooms and function rooms provide seating for up to 180. Local specialties (morel mushrooms, crayfish, lake and pond fish, the famous Bress poultry...) and home-made delights (Pérouges flat cake, the famous "galette pérougienne", reviving Ypocras wine from the Middle Age) are served in period costume. Free wifi. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
This hotel has a fantastic location on the main square in Pérouges and the staff are very helpful. Pérouges is well worth the journey from Annecy for a day visit, the museum being worth the €5 entrance fee just for the view from the tower alone and there are several craft shops to visit, a church, as well the cobbled streets to explore. However we stayed overnight and virtually had the village to ourselves late evening and early morning to explore before the coach loads of tourists arrived, which was a real bonus. We felt that both the hotel and restaurant were very expensive for what you got and was a bit of a tourist trap. Our double room at €137 though spacious and comfortable was a little tired and needed updating and a continental breakfast consisting of shop-bought croissants and bread etc was over priced at a further €17 each. Our meal in the restaurant was good but more home cooking than haute cuisine; I had a salad with smoked fish to start, roast chicken and dauphinois potatoes(delicious) and a grand marnier dessert (also good)which was €50. If I visited Pérouges again I would stay at one of the B&Bs in the village such as the Grenier à Sel which represent much better value for money. For all this, we did enjoy our stay at the hotel, the staff were friendly and we had lovely views from our room over the village and it is an experience to stay in the hostellerie.

It would be easy to dismiss this place due to its small size and uninviting stairs. But... For the price it is clean and very comfortable. Beds are good and pillows soft. A nice view out of the window. Owner is a sweetheart and breakfast a nice experience. Perfect position in the middle of the town. Give it a go.

Hostess was rude and arrogant. I would not recommend this B&B. My wife and I felt that they were doing us a favor to stay at their house. Very expensive, rude hostess, no amenities, etc. Bad Experience.

Just opposite the tourist office for Perouges. Not in the historical centre of the village but that is five minutes walk Very clean and comfortable room Host very welcoming and helpful Much better value for money than the heritage stays in the old village but if you want then book in the centre of the village
