This was our second visit to Sal and Jerry's outstanding b and b and everything was just as wonderful as five years ago. They are the most perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and Fig Tree House is an ideal base for visiting many of Cornwall's superb gardens. We can thoroughly recommend Fig Tree House.

Comfortable

The accommodation here is comfortable and good value. The house is decorated very tastefully and is clean and welcoming. Breakfast is served at the pub a few doors down the road. It is only a short walk from Number Fifty into Penryn where there are cafes, a museum and the water front with a working boatyard. It is a good place to stay.

Fabulous cottage highly recommended

Reviewed By APHarry

The cottage is immaculate and nicely furnished. Everything you want is provided. It was spotlessly clean. It was lovely and quiet and watching the farm at work was brilliant. The cottage we were in was perfect for two although there are bunk beds in the second bedroom. The hosts are helpful and lovely. Cannot recommend highly enough

Cancelled a refundable standard room by email and have been trying to get refund since August. Have received no communication whatsoever. This I find is completely unacceptable and totally unprofessional. I would not recommend you stay here if there was a chance you would need to cancel.

The Sidings Student Accommodation

Do not stay here

Reviewed By DomFrenchBristol

This is cheap no thrills student accommodation being marketed through Booking.com for £100 a night. It was the only accommodation on offer in Cornwall which is the only reason we didn’t walk right out again. Friendly enough staff let you in, joked about how the place was like a prison, and when shown the room realise it isn’t entirely a prison. There’s a shared kitchen for self catering but this isn’t cleaned - I gagged when I opened the fridge door. No one has cleaned it in weeks. You have to park on neighbouring streets which annoys the locals, and as you’re right on the station platform there’s noise of trains from 6am. There’s no hand gels signs or any suggestion we might be in the midst of a pandemic - which is clearly what they’re capitalising on. Each set of arriving visitors look crestfallen when shown through the gate expecting to be staying in a hotel - the place should only be used for what it was built for, emergency student accommodation.
