I've stayed in Nabari quite a few times but this was my first time at this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. Desk staff did not have very much English but they were very professional and check-in was straightforward. My room on the 8th floor was comfortable. Small compared to Western hotels but typical size for a business hotel in Japan, with all the usual amenities TV (only Japanese programmes), kettle etc and bathroom with shower/bath and one of those fancy toilets that washes your bum. Always a plus! Cleaning staff were very friendly. The room is cleaned every other day (fine with me) but towels are changed daily. I only ate 3 times during my weeklong stay and I was always near the end of the serving time so there was not much selection left. There would have been plenty of choices if I had made it earlier, but I'm not really a breakfast person. The breakfast area was quite spacious compared to a lot of business hotels I've stayed in. I will be happy to stay here again.

In the Akame valley, almost in the middle of nowhere you can find this beautiful and traditional place. I would recommend to take you time and enjoy the onsen first: a beautiful hot spring spa in the middle of the woods. As soon as you have relaxed yourself in the warm water, you can them move to the restaurant which is very traditional and easy going, but with great food: Iga beef and fresh vegetables, and also great sashimi. Also the way the food is served is terrific.
