A safe place in these troubled times
Reviewed By Alan FWe recently spent a few days in tis well appointed, well staffed and beautifully situated hotel. Although we had visited a number of times before we were a little nervous about visiting during a covid outbreak. We need not have worried for an instant, the general infection rate was low, precautions generally were well thought out, well publicized and carefully adhered to. In the hotel precautions were even more adhered to and, something I had not thought of, the chef (a family member of consummate skill) had gone out of his way to cut down the miles his ingredients had travelled. Although this might have been thought a disadvantage, in fact he had gone out of his way with his recipes and the result was so good that I noted down the fare for copying in my own kitchen. Full marks, and in the middle of a covid outbreak, exemplary!

Has the potential to be better
Reviewed By scrabgal1Ate here about 2 years ago and decided to try it again. Friendly waitress and quick service. Both my husband and I had the Hirschedelgulasch (Best Venison Goulash). Admittedly we had asked for smaller portions (Seniorenteller) but could probably have eaten the normal portion without problems. Unfortunately we both found quite a bit of gristle which, when mentioned to the waitress, elicited the comment: 'you can't see what's inside' with no apology. Will probably try another restaurant next time. We did not stay at the hotel so cannot comment on rooms and breakfast.

Reviewed By Lupus003Eine sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberin, ein sehr schönes und gepflegtes Zimmer und ein ganz tolles Frühstück - was kann man sich mehr wünschen. Bei unserer nächsten Reise in den Süden werden wir den Stop-over ganz bestimmt wieder hier machen.

Reviewed By KS-34119Hotel is located in the center of Maikammer. Great variety of wine producers in walking distance - we can recommend Manfred Schädler ( Inh Steffen Mugler). Nice hiking tours are nearby - autumn is a pretty busy time and many hikers are in the area. Prices are high during this period. Hotel reception open after 5.30pm. Rooms are clean and have standard equipment. No WiFi available. Overall - a pretty standard hotel for those, who are tired and only want to have a place to sleep.
