An excellent opportunity for amateur golf players to practise their swing. For those who like history and culture, the centre of Pau is just a 15-minute drive from our hotel. Do you have a plane to catch? Our hotel is only 6 miles from Pau Pyrénées airport. Really practical!
Excellent B & B
Reviewed By Brian TReading the reviews I am not sure we stayed in the same place. We have used many B & Bs, this has to be one of the best, although the signage could have been better placed and having two roads with the same name in close proximity did present a problem, just a word of caution. However the hotel itself was newly decorated, although there was only two of us we had a family room with a mezzanine floor, the room comprised a comfortable double bed with two singles on the mezzanine. Newly decorated and spotlessly clean with more than enough space for the one night traveller. As with all B & Bs you can check in anytime, if reception is not open there is a very usable machine to check in with so time is not an issue. The hotel offers free room Wi-Fi which is simple to access. Free secure parking also no problem with arriving late. A short walk across the road we found a reasonable priced restaurant and a Chinese restaurant no need to use the expensive ones on the main road. Overall a very nice one night stop.

Struggle to fault it
Reviewed By tzimmerzThis is now called Hotel Spa Vamcel and i think it is part of the Inter Hotel chain. It is obviously very recently renovated, and as such is very fresh, modern, spotless and well equipped.The comfort rooms are large, with a balcony. The double bed is very comfy, and the room has TV, fridge and furniture. The bathroom has a shower with multi nozzles (overhead or full body). The Spa complex is excellent with lovely decorated pool area, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.This is all included. There are extra charges for treatments and the Spa Bier. This appears to be private hot tub baths with beer pumps to help yourself - but it is very over priced. The free Spa is perfectly adequate and local Pyrenees bier is E3 a bottle in the bar. There is a sport Bar next door, but it closes at 6.30pm. (it is a sports shop/museum with a bar inside!) Round the corner is a separte restaurant with good food and drinks. The only slight negative is the location. It is in a very quite location just past a retail/industrial estate. However, many rooms look out onto trees/hills and it means it is very quiet and peaceful. You wouldn't maybe want to spend the whole day there, but its an ideal base to explore Pau, or venture into the Pyrenees (45 mins drive). The ladies on reception/breakfast are lovely. 3 of the 4 speak English and all are very friendly, helpful and always give you a smile and greeting. Breakfast is a great buffet, although the only hot cooked items are scrambled egg and bacon (not a full English, but this is France). the rest of the buffet makes up for it, with cheeses,ham,croissants, pastries, breads, cakes, fresh fruit, hot drinks and juices, yogurts, and a great machine that squeezes fresh oranges. I .loved this place and stay in quite a few hotels with work. It only has 40 rooms, so is much more friendly and quiet than big chains, but still has the facilities. (very basic gym of cycling machine and running machine)

Good location and service but rooms a little tired
Reviewed By David PAn overnight stay on the way to Spain in an executive room. the room was not as good as the executive room we had stayed in the previous night at the Novotel Rouen sud.Breakfast was very good but dinner was overpriced.

A fast night
Reviewed By Willem MThis is a good place for one night. Location in a semi-industrial area not too pleasant. You need a car really to stay here. We are hikers and it was a long way to walk. Taking price into sccount though, this is excellent value

Reviewed By RadondirkWhen we checked in, we were not informed that the air conditioning was broken. This condition is not acceptable for the price of this hotel. Directly under the roof it was impossible to sleep at 33 degrees celsius. Opening the window was not an option because of the noisy traffic. Neither we nor the other guests, who also complained right after check-in, were offered goodwill. The condition of the rooms is very basic and not up to IBIS standards. Only the breakfast and the friendliness of the staff were good.

Reviewed By grumpyroadieBeing stuck in the Pau region for two days whilst there is a truck driving ban. And with no open truck stops it was a cheap hotel for the duration. Well as normal for a ibis it’s clean and well presented. A little out of the way with no transport but still pleasant. Our room had great views of the Pyrenees to which snow had come early this year.
