Loved the place. Main house is British colonial so typical of an estate managers house that you see all over Southern Africa in Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe for example. Typical British architecture complete with concrete floors coated with "stop polish". The eating area has beautiful views over the tea plantations and the palm tree in front gets regular visits from rare palm nut Vultures (great if you are a birder). Guest rooms clean and once more beautiful views. Highly recommend this place

We spent 2 nights at Isunga, it is a beautiful lodge overlooking the Kibale forest, the rooms, main guest areas are great, neat and clean, friendly staff and all the meals were really good. Isunga is 20 mins away from Kibale Park and an ideal place to stay over if you are trekking the Chimps, overall we loved our time at Isunga.

Kibale Forest Camp is a property of Nature Lodges Ltd. The camp consists of 12 African safari style tents, comfortably furnished with twin or double beds. Each unit has its own private en-suite bathroom with an eco friendly toilet, a dressing room and a bush shower. The tents are set in a lush forested surrounding, often visited by several primate species. Kibale Forest Camp forms the perfect base for visitors looking for affordable quality in a unique setting. Warm hospitality, excellent food and service at a fantastic price/quality ratio can be expected.
This was a 2 night stay and having stayed at 3 other Nature Lodges, this place is not of the same standard, management wise. The Camp itself is excellent, the rooms are great, the mini trek superb (but be aware of red ants if rained) and bathroom layout very good. I am not one for complaining, but the management of this accommodation need to get up to speed with the other lodges which range from excellent to outstanding. Had this been my 1st nature lodge, i most certainly would never have book with this company ever!!! This sad part is the bones of the camp is outstanding but our experience included no power, no hot water, and poor service (Staff more interested in their phones than customers, endlessly asking for basics such as sugar, milk etc.), The Manager? disciplining / complaining to staff which could be overheard whilst in restaurant. On arrival bathroom was dirty/used, had to hustle for 2 more cleaning visits to get it cleaned properly before able to use the toilet. I requested to discuss with management but they never appeared, unconvinced the housekeeping dept perform checks on quality of work done, or even guidelines on how to clean, My complaints have been sent to the head office so hopefully they will perform their own audit and assessment independently and action. Speaking with other guests, they didn't seem to have same room issues, so perhaps it was specific to our room which was furthest away (Room 11?) regarding hot water.

It’s fantastic how close this place is to Kibale for chimp trekking (5 mins). While getting from place to place in Uganda can take some time but it’d be worth staying here even if it was much further away (bumpy roads and all). The rooms are spacious with classic African architecture. Wifi worked well (assuming you actually want to use it instead of just disconnecting). The beds were comfortable and a great way to recharge after a day of trekking. The staff was friendly and helpful. And plus I had the best meal I had had in Uganda here. Literally so good that i had it two nights in a row.

I had some misgivings as we first went into our bungalow in which my wife and I stayed, since there is no AC, no fan, and no electrical outlets. It turns out that the high-altitude makes cooling completely unnecessary, as the evening temperature is perfect (maybe 18-20 ºC). Charging of batteries was easily done in the comfortable main lodge. The bungalows are about 100 meters downhill from the reception area in the forest. Super-friendly and helpful staff members, of course, carry luggage, and will also escort you with a light if needed after the very good dinner. The room itself was perfectly clean, very comfortable, and of good size. Except perhaps for the sounds of the animals in the forest, the bungalows are exceptionally quiet. This was one of the most pleasant places in which we stayed in Uganda.
