Only stayed one evening in this hotel. The room was clean and conformable but there was nothing outstanding about the hotel. The place is cheap and is between a 2.5 and three star hotel, which was probably why the tour stayed there. There isn't anything in the direct vicinty to see or do if you are looking for a club or party scene.

Did not fancy the tourist dominance of Kyoto with its beautiful sights so stayed in this pleasant hotel and travelled from there. The area around the hotel is overwhelmed with Car Parks, hardly even a shop. By train to Nagoya is ten minutes, Kyoto twenty minutes. Room was small but more than adequate. Good bathroom. Breakfast was good in line with Business Hotels. Had a Public Onsen/Bath available. To save the hassle of the bigger towns would recommend this location.

Guest House Gifu Hashima COCONE is a 3-minute walk from Shinkansen Gifu Hashima Station. It is newly built in April of this year and is very beautiful. With 2 dormitories , 20 beds and 3 private rooms for up to 5 people , catering to a wide range of backpackers and families, it meets the needs of travelers. Each private room is fully equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, toilet, TV, air conditioning, and can cater for your own meals. There are women only in the dormitory and women can stay with peace of mind. There is a shared lounge and a kitchen for self-catering. The dormitory's bunk bed is a non-sticky bed with stairs, and can be used safely. In addition, privacy is protected because half capsule use. Of course, each room is equipped with free WiFi and you can enjoy the video site on the TV in the lounge on the second floor. There is also a coin launderette and ticket shop on the ground floor to help travelers. Convenience stores and supermarkets are nearby, and the restaurant area i
I was heading from Osaka to one of my host families near Nagoya central station when I happened to find this rather peculiar place to stay on the way. It is a small stop at Gifuhashima station. A small town with indoor skiing and not far from monet's Garden. The hosts at Cocone are a wonderful and friendly couple that seem to want nothing but the best for their customers. I first tried the capsule area for a couple of days, which by the way is divided by gender. There I met rather interesting guests. For instance a boyband group and various bloggers. We all had some chat in the shared kitchen and living area. The owner also told me that there are private rooms for those who want to stay more discrete or need more personal space. I would also suggest the private rooms if you need a good sleep and dont want to hear others snore or if you dont like to share bathroom and shower facilities with up 15 other guests. Unless you travel with many friends or your whole family. I felt tempted and had to try at least one night in their private rooms. There one can relax taking a hot bath after their shower or cook in their own secluded kitchen space. There are beds for at least 4-5 people in each private room and space for dining or study. They even have a washitsu (Japanese room) style area, with tatami (Japanese straw floor coverings) and a private TV. There is both a landromat and a ticket vendor for discounted Bullet-train tickets on the first floor of the same building as the Guest House. So no worries about either dirty clothes or future travel plans. If your stomach screams empty, there are both a conveniece store and a medium-sized grocery store at a walking distance from where you sleep. The conveniece store is, as always in Japan, open all hours of the clock everyday. When I needed to leave, I just walked to the high-speed-rail station, which is a few minutes away. It was a great stay and I hope more people will find this calm and relaxing place for a short or long period of well earned rest before their next destination.

A very standard APA at the train station, I could not hear the trains. The rooms were the same size as other APA ( tiny tiny tiny) but thats what you expect. The TV in the room was enormous, almost bigger than the bed..... Breakfast was ok, and the server there was really polite and friendly, making some suggestions on what to have.
