I travel all over Canada for work so I experience all types of stays. Lakeview is exactly what I look for. Quite, very cozy and very clean. Makes being away from the comfort of my family and my home much easier. The customer service is amazing, it’s very rare to come across hosts/owners this accommodating. If you are passing through for a night or coming for a trip I highly recommend Lakeview you won’t be disappointed.

Pinestone Resort and Conference Centre: 160 Acres to discover. We are Haliburton Highlands' largest full service resort with four-seasons of amenities, a cozy ambience, spectacular dining, Stone 21 Restaurant and patio, an indoor and outdoor pool (with sundecks) and sauna. We offer a variety of comfortable and spacious rooms including main resort rooms, villas and chalets. Our private 14-acre pond is the setting for events and activities throughout the year. Stay connected with our free Wi-Fi throughout the resort. With over 15,000 sq ft of event space, we are also a perfect venue for corporate meetings, weddings and special events throughout the year.
The rooms require some updates and tlc but perhaps the facility is too large to make this economically worthwhile? The carpeting is old, worn, buckling and the baseboards are coming off and the doors don’t actually seal - you can see through the top. This was not caused by the pandemic but evidently the facility has looked run down for a long time. In our ground floor room the a/c did not work, we did not have a screen door, the bathroom fan did not work, we did not have a fridge but requested one. The bed was comfortable with sufficient pillows but the duvet was laundered incorrectly and was lumpy. But I was tired, so slept well. The grounds were nice and there are trails for walking. I believe they are pet friendly which is great! Ample parking. The restaurant was not great. Be aware of the limitations and age of the facility if booking.

Two strikes, and they are out. I stayed in two different rooms over the past couple of months, and felt that the rooms were filthy. The room stunk of musty, cigarette smoke…..I’m not sure what; just smelled filthy. The room carpets have obviously never been cleaned. A coffee stain on the linoleum told me that the non-carpeted portion of the room had never been cleaned either. I ended up cleaning up a dried coffee stain, in a room that I had just checked into. When pointed out to the On-duty manager who took me to my room, he said, oh well, and then walked away. The on-duty person also seemed incredibly confused; when I talk to him on the phone, I had to give him my one night date no fewer than eight times. I was quoted $95 a night over the phone; I wrote it down, so I was not confused. Upon arrival, he said the price was $130 per night. Bar fridge in the room made so much noise, that I had to unplug it to get to sleep. Overall, a very negative experience. I will never stay there again, even if I have to pay more.

The self-serve continental breakfast includes cereals, yogurt, fruit, coffee and bagels with spreads. The area is popular for cycling, hiking, skiing boating and snowmobiling. Bicycles are also available for hire. The Fleming Haliburton School of Art + Design is 5 minutes' drive away.
Stayed here for a night but will definitely be coming back. We occupied the ground floor which was a 2 bedroom with dining and living area. It also came with a full kitchen. The host was very friendly and welcomed us upon arrival. There was a basket with fruits, and for breakfast they provided bagels, cream cheese, jam, cereals, juice and coffee. The place was rustic with modern fixtures and a wood stove which was very nice to sit around enjoying a book. I would recommend this place.
