The Oaksmere is a lovingly restored Tudor manor, set in 17 acres of Suffolk parkland just outside of the market town of Eye, Diss. Boasting a Victorian walled kitchen garden, which is at the heart of our menus, alongside an on site butchery, Executive Chef Matt Avery and his team create exquisite dishes from homegrown and local produce. We have a range of dining areas including a public house, three private dining rooms, a spacious terrace with children’s play area, and a bright orangery style restaurant with open pass – so that you can watch the kitchen team at work! The Main House and Coach House boast 14 state of the art, individually designed bedrooms and suites, including family bedrooms and dog friendly bedrooms – perfect for reclining after dinner or a stroll in the Suffolk countryside. Nestled in our landscaped parkland, with the idyllic Suffolk countryside as a backdrop, stands our wedding and event marquee. Our wedding and event planners offer a bespoke planning service, with each wedding or event individually tailored to your personal taste and requirements.
Couldn't fault my stay, even after seeing the recent bad reviews, booked in for 1 night no problem, evening meal was great and the service prompt, staff all great, this was a Wednesday , room was fantastic jacuzzi bath and loads of facilities, sky TV, etc, breakfast was brilliant, if I'm working in the area again I will rebook

We had our wedding switched to this venue as the original venue could no longer host our wedding day.... and oh my goodness are we now so very glad of that. From our first viewing we absolutely fell in love with the place... especially Tithe Barn. From the time we arrived on the Friday, Lynne was there as welcoming as ever (such a lovely lady) and nothing was too much trouble. She made suggestions in the planning stage which we took on board, made all of our wedding party so very welcome and was there on the day hosting and guiding... which so helped us just sail through the day with no hitches and surprisingly... no nerves..lol The barn was the most perfect setting for our ceremony as well as our evening reception. Everyone of our guests has commented on what an amazing day and evening it was. Big shout out to the young lad who was with Lynne over the weekend... I believe he was a new employee... he was brilliant.. so helpful and always with a smile on his face... everyone remembers him.. he really did work hard... a huge thank you to him and Lynne... x

What can we say that hasn’t already been said? Attentive hostess, beautiful if not a little quirky room, outstanding views, amazing breakfast and an incredibly comfortable bed. We highly recommend visiting Thornham Hall. Gill and Sam Masters

We stayed in pod 3 Goshawk. Spotlessly clean toasty warm. Tv table and chairs , sofa bed, double bed. Good size fridge. Toaster microwave and usual kitchen stuff. Tea coffee and hot chocolate was supplied. The only thing we had to take was bath towels. Nice well enclosed garden with furniture and gas bbq. Lovely views across open fields. Not far from pubs and places of interest. We meet the owner on arrival and never saw them again but they live near by if needed so this was perfect to be left in peace. Only negatives where poor WiFi kept dropping off or poor so just stuck with 4g on the phone. The mattress we found way to soft so never gave support and little window in roof could do with a blind to keep early sun out for a lay in. All things considered we would definitely return.

One night stay booked for my boyfriend’s birthday. Paid for extra’s of celebration pack, logs and kindling and a private hour to use the spa facilities. We had the best time! The balloons and banners were up on our arrival as a surprise which was amazing! Perfect and peaceful setting in a beautiful location. Would definitely recommend for people to visit. We took our own alcohol, bbq and food and had a beautiful evening by the fire pit until our private slot in the spa area. The hot tub was clean and set at perfect temperature, we took a mini speaker to listen to our own music and enjoyed the time we had together. We were not bothered by anyone else staying, just a passing hello. The bed was comfy and the hut was absolutely beautiful. We were given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco which was lovely! Anyone wanting to escape the stresses of everyday life, I couldn’t recommend oak lodge escape anymore! The breakfast was pancakes and waffles with a coffee machine which was lovely in the morning. Thank you for having us ?

Cowpasture Barn sits in a 'tucked away' position on Mellis Common. The Common is unfenced and is still managed by traditional grazing methods and hay cutting. This glorious open space has few properties dotted around its perimeter, some obscured by trees, none of them detracting from the flower rich Common. Cowpasture Barn offers two elegant bedrooms, a first floor King size suite with a seating area and ensuite shower room, and a ground floor King size room with an en-suite double shower room. Each room offers free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, Kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and kettle, Luxury toiletries, quality white towels and crisp white cotton bed linen. Mellis is a great base for walking and cycling. We have locked dry cycle storage available by prior arrangement and welcome both cyclists and ramblers. Free parking is available on our driveway.
We decided to go away for a weekend of rest and relaxation to celebrate my birthday and choose the perfect place for it. Cowpasture Barn is set away from any hustle and bustle but not far enough away that you can’t get to places of interest and places to eat. Richard the owner was friendly and helpful and despite arriving during storm Eunice and having no power he made us welcome and comfortable with candles, torches and hot water to make ourselves a hot drink. The room had everything you could possibly want, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and we were surprised to come back each day to homemade cakes. The bed was so comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. We choose our room because it had a seating area which was lovely given the weather wasn’t at it’s best! The dining area was comfortable and airy, breakfast was wonderful with so much to choose from. We didn’t get to meet Richard’s wife Jane due to family commitments but Richard was a dab hand in the kitchen and the cooked breakfast was perfect. There is nothing negative we can say about our stay, everything was perfect and we very much hope to return.
