This hotel is located in the village of Duruelo, a great place for exploring the Picos de Urbion region. From the village itself you can take a trail that takes you to rock formations, a waterfall and the summits of the Picos de Urbion (after a few hours of hiking) through a dense pine forest. (You can also take a narrow road and drive to the rock formations and the waterfall if you are not into hiking.) The hotel occupies a solidly-built house in perfect condition with added fanciful Roman motifs (The name of hotel is spelled Roman style on the façade in big golden letters: CASA ROMVLO). Our room was not especially large, but very comfortable. The dining room, where breakfast (included with the room) is served and where you can also have dinner is even elegant, with white tablecloths other fancy details. The food is also rather good (this also applies to the house red wine). It seems that they regularly cater to tourist groups who stop for lunch before continuing on their buses, so the dining room is very large. Everything about the place is surprisingly good, especially for the very low prices they charge for the rooms. The hotel is owned and run by three very attentive and cordial brothers. One of them explained to us that Romulo was their father's name, but that they liked the historical connotations of the name and decided to add decoration details related to ancient Rome. I would recommend this hotel very highly if you are thinking of visiting this beautiful rural area of Spain.
