We had a fantastic time at Au Club Alpin and loved every carefully selected detail that made the whole experience a superb combination of leading edge technology while preserving the heritage and locality of the original building. The staff was extremely nice and showed us great hospitality. We were so impressed that we even decided to return on our home journey, which made it a perfect ending to a great vacation. Thank you so much!!

We stayed in the hotel for a half term, family ski holiday. We drove into verbier every day as our kids are in ski school there (which I highly recommend). The hotel is at the top of a very windy mountain road, has an incredible view and an immediate charm. You can feel the personality immediately and I really wanted to know more about the family running it and so went to the history on their website. I really recommend reading because the charm multiplies when you understand the family history to the place. really lovely greeting, great service culture, warm and comfortable. Our room was exactly what we needed - spotlessly clean, comfortable and warm with a magical view. Great buffet breakfast, lovely communal lounge and we had some really nice evening meals. Will definitely return.

My mom and I stayed here two nights after finishing the TMB, and there are so many good things to say I don’t know where to start. Having a bath tub to soak after walking 110 miles in nine days was the best. We were given a room with a huge patio overlooking the lake, and for the first night when we were too exhausted to go anywhere, they allowed us to take our dinner and a bottle of wine from the restaurant downstairs to our room. If I’d had any energy I would’ve gone to the sauna, which was part of the spa in the hotel. I had come down with a cold and when I asked about local pharmacies, the owner—Charles, I believe his name was—went in to his personal medicines trying to find me something to relieve my symptoms. Such a kind man! I cannot recommend this hotel enough for its location, amenities and unsurpassed service.

We stayed here for a night while hiking the TMB. The hotel is on the older side, but the room and beds were comfortable enough. The en suite bathroom was actually a small room with toilet/shower plus a separate alcove for the sink, but it worked fine. The location was very near the lake, and we enjoyed walking over there to try out the paddle boats in the afternoon. The service wasn't the best. I was disappointed in the half-board dinner and the fact that it was not changeable. I asked whether we could substitute for a (cheaper) menu item, but they insisted no and charged us full price. I guess we should have just gotten both and had more to eat, since it cost us the same. We also had to track someone down to ask about the WiFi password, and the devices on it were limited.

We went to the Au Vieux Champex restaurant twice during our stay. The service was very average - the waiters were poorly trained and looked bored. When I asked for a sprite, I was given a spritz! The food was sort of ok so we returned another time, looking for a fondue after a day of hiking. What came along was hot water with mushrooms and some frozen meat slices. There was no cheese! We were charged $45 per person for what was a basic hot pot! Terrible. Won’t be returning.
