The world's southernmost city is located on the Beagle Channel, between the Martial Range and the end of the world. It is a key access point to skiing at Cerro Castor and Glaciar Martial, wildlife adventures with penguins and orcas in the Beagle Channel, and Tierra del Fuego National Park. Of course, it’s also the port of call nearest Antarctica, and a unique destination for kayaking, sailing or having a drink in a warm hotel bar.

Just returned from a great two night stay at this nice little hotel. Spacious room was immaculately clean, bed very comfortable and the bathroom modern, although on the small side. Good Wifi and outstanding breakfast. Staff went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful booking restaurants and other attractions for us. Great service! Outstanding value in ideal location in the center of downtown. Only negative was that room was a little noisy.

We stayed at Los Cormonares hostel for 5 days, and it was the best choice we've made. First, the view was fantastic. But most important, the crew was always sooo nice and friendly with us, very warm people, who helped us with everything we needed. One morning I felt really bad and dehydrated, and Gustavo walked with me all the way to the nearest clinic, talked with the nurse for me, and got me everything I've needed. Even when we was late for breakfast Ursula and Gustavo gave us everything! The only downside for this hostel was the way back from downtown, but it really not that bad.

This friendly backpacker hub delivers with a warm atmosphere and helpful staff. The open floor plan and beer on tap are plainly conductive to making friends.Guests lounge and play cards in the common room and cook in a cool balcony kitchen. Cement rooms are clean and ample, with radiant floor heating.

We are pleased to welcome people from all over the world. Lo de Momo is one block far from San Martin, the principal street. We are waiting for you!
I had shifted here from another hostel (Traveller’s House) on 21FEB2020 to this lovely hostel because of the immense number of steps ascending/descending to it, and two travel mates (Wasilla hikers Judith &Don) strong recommendation. As with any hostel, you know the price is low but very little else. I reserved through TA/Booking.com, and was received extremely well by the staff! After being shown my bunk (bottom, of course!), I began my Gimpwalkabout town, eventually locating an excellent bike rental site (Extreme Ushuaia), returning later when officially open. I the meantime, I returned to this fine hostel and enjoyed a much-needed nap before renting the multi-geared upright. It was quite dark when I finally returned here, but I was secure in knowing where I was sleeping for the night. Another hosteller was assigned to the upper bunk who snored, but that was no problem as I shook him awake & politely requested he “roll over”. The real problem was the lack of electrical outlets: only two waist-high on the wall opposite the bunks. Difficult indeed! Then the second real problem had to do with the day. Apparently, it was Friday/party day and the adjacent street had a bar/many, MANY revelers whose gaiety/noise easily penetrated the window/walls. So, the continued snoring & exterior sounds finally drive me to my usual solution: I relocated myself to the cement passageway alongside the toilets. QUIET & UNDISTURBED, the solar-heated mass beneath me brought my important rest. Other than that, this crowded hostel was quite nice. It gets my “¡Wheel of Approval!”

Very interesting and comfortable stay. Host (Claudio) went above and beyond to insure stay experience met expectations. Accomplished this and more. Was made to feel at home with more than amenities. Invited to join in on family dinner for instance. Offered no cost shuttle service as needed and per their recommendations. Property is immaculate, beds comfortable, area quiet and close to town as well as Tierra del Fuego. Other hiking opportunities close to property as well. Actually wished I had more days there. Highly recommend. Other guests and family spoke in Spanish but Claudio never made me feel uncomfortable often explaining their conversations. Exceptional!
