Mercadoiro Hostel and Restaurant on the Sant Jaques Way, Sarria to Portomarin, has 20 beds in bunk beds and 3 twin bedrooms also has a restaurant and tapas menu
This is a bar on the Camino de Santiago. We stopped by here as we were approaching Portomarin for a drink. The music was playing which created a good atmosphere. It was really busy, we had to nab a table and some chairs and take it into the shade. The beers were very much needed on a hot day

We stayed in Shiku for three nights that had been pre-reserved and pre-paid because we were concerned about room availability over a holiday weekend. With that, we didn't have any opportunity to change our location without loosing our money entirely. As a couple we were provided a three-bed room for ourselves. That was one of the few good things about the stay. The room had no other furniture besides the single beds (not bunks, which is good) but was poorly cleaned. The bath rooms were well designed, but not well cleaned either. The "kitchen" was laughable, with a microwave, small refrigerator and a toaster as the full set of appliances. A folding table served as the prep area and a small bookcase held incomplete cooking pots and utensils. When the restaurant was closed, as it was for most of the holiday weekend, there is no one on site except other pilgrims/lodgers. The location is close to everything within the wall, and access to the bus station is very convenient. However for the price, other hotels nearby offer better comfort for only slightly more money.

Never book a room in this hotel ! HORRIBLE ! Dirty and noisy room : you hear the music of the bar and the conversions of customers as if they were in your room...Impossible to sleep. Disrespectful, antipathetic staff.
The house is located in a dream setting surrounded by nature, charm and the most authentic essence of rural Galicia. All that just over 1 km from the Camino De Santiago (Primitive Way). An ideal place for all those people who want to enjoy a unique experience.
