This walking tour led by Captain Bryan is not your average "sit there and shut up" tour where the guide won't even remember you. Rather, after brief introduction, Captain Bryan will lead you on a historic journey of how Shem Creek came to prominence with its famous shrimping fleet and much more. Unlike any other tour in the area, guest have the ability to see the industry at work. Perhaps the group will meet Mr. Rector at Geechie Seafood with his several shrimp boats, beautiful reminders of the bountiful harvest to be conducted offshore. Furthermore, sample some of the key lime pie made by the family of Mrs. Fitch who is the owner of Mt. Pleasant Seafood or try your hand cast netting or a crabbing. This is not a tour, it is an experience to immerse yourself in the Shem Culture. Take back history, culture, language, snacks, but most of all guests will take from this experience an underlying appreciation for our local shrimpers and the history behind these hard working men and women.

Could not recommend Capt. Bryan’s tours enough! He was so friendly and got our group to feel like old friends in the first 15 minutes of meeting each other! The groups are small by design and that made the afternoon so much more enjoyable, as we were all able to interact more (verses being at the back of some huge group unable to ask any questions!). We walked through beautiful Charleston, learned a little bit of (not your average) history, and drank some beers along the way! What more could you want?! If your in town I highly recommend meeting up with Bryan. We can’t wait to come back and go on his boat tour!

We are the only tour company in Myrtle Beach that tours INSIDE Fort Sumter. We have packaged our tour in such a way that you will experience Charleston much better and less expensive than if you drove to Charleston from Myrtle Beach attempted to tour Charleston on your own.
Inclusions: Lunch, Air-conditioned vehicle

The hotel and staff were great. The lobby was beautiful and the room was very nice. We went to breakfast several times and had drinks in the evening in the courtyard. I understand they are understaffed, as is everywhere, but the service was great and staff was very nice. I will definitely stay there on my next visit! My only suggestion for future renovation would be to have a vanity in the bathroom, not room for toiletries.

After 25 minutes we were 300 feet from our starting point on a 90 minute tour. The guide 5 times forgot what he was saying and totally lost it. The topper was we were to end at 12:30p. At 12:45p we were 1 mile away from starting point and he informed us he was taking 3 people from group of 45 to a boat ride and he would not be back to the original place we took off from for 30 minutes. We had to walk 1 mile to get back and we missed our 1 o’clock appointment

Shawn was an amazing tour guide!!!! Loved the experience!! Got to see so many historic buildings and he knew so much about the history! Loved his humor and friendliness. We actually got the time for our tour mistaken but he graciously called us before he took off! Luckily we were in the parking lot at 10 right when the tour was supposed to start (we thought it was 10:30, our mistake).

Alan, our driver, gave such an informative and interesting discussion of the history of the people and of the property (homes, businesses, colleges, parks, etc.) of the area. Afterwards, we drove to revisit some of the sites, plus we plan to take up on some of his recommendations and tour some mansions/homes.

The parking for this was challenging. The lot next to the visitors center said full-but the handicapped spaces were open, which we needed. Getting in required a lot of mobility to get to the limited mobility accesses. Once we were on the tour, the guide was very knowledgeable about the city currently and historically. There is a stop at the Battery to walk around and photograph the area. Now we know the city a little better and can plan our next visit better.
