Molokai embraces the true Hawaiian spirit but without the typical Hawaiian fanfare. The pace is slower here, the nightlife and megaresorts are practically nonexistent (no buildings taller than a coconut tree are allowed), you won't even find a traffic light on this small island (38 miles long and 10 miles wide). You will find tranquility and nature - waterfalls, beaches, coves, coral reefs and rainforests, all best explored by foot, horse or boat. Molokai is also known for its fabulous mountain biking.

It is easy to miss and drive past, but if you have a little time, it is a very interesting place to visit. You will see an incredibly compact organic farm where , depending on the weather, you will see how nut are gathered, dried, and the cracked. You get an opportunity to crack and taste fresh raw nuts and learn how they are optionally roasted.

What can you say about a place that opens its shop on their day off to sell me macademia nuts to take home for my best friiend, because I'm leaving the next day. You say, GO THERE. And btw, I bought a bag of nuts for me too and they were incredible.

I was here in about February 2016. I just happened across the reviews now and thought I would add my view. It must have been a Tuesday, because when we got here the music was in full swing. It was crowded and hard to find a seat, people were sitting on the steps! The music and the hula were wonderful. There was a queue for coffee but people were patient and the staff busy and we all got served. It was the highlight of not just the day on Molokai but the whole trip to Hawaii. Once the music finished, and we were waiting for our taxi, the elders/mature community members sat down for lunch and we're discussing local affairs, the staff served them with courtesy and respect. I understood - from the very helpful taxi driver, who brought us there - that they were all family. The music and hula were wonderful, the insight into a strong community, priceless.I would go again, and again and I am forever grateful to our taxi driver, who showed us around and gave us such a gift.
