With at least 4 cruise ships docked i Venice, the main areas were crowded so it was a treat to be in Malamocco with hardly anyone around. As other reviewers have said, there is very little to do or see. We just enjoying the peace and quiet and had a delicious meal in a leafy courtyard at Trattoria days Scarso.

Popular since the 19th century, this Venetian beach on the upper Adriatic Sea is the site of the Biennale International Film Festival, the world’s oldest festival of cinematography. In addition to sun and sand, you’ll find hotels located on and near this 12-kilometer long beach.
Great day out and the bars offer great food and drinks within easy walking. One Euro for the toilets and there are shower facilities and get washing available. Hot hot hot the day we went but lots of fun. Great break from the crowded streets.

A short Vaporetto or water taxi ride eastbound across the Venice Lagoon lies the Island of the Lido, which serves as Venice’s Playground spot. The long Island is actually a barrier island which protects the Lagoon from the Adriatic. Lido has varied hotels, restaurants galore, bars, shops & attractions. In the warmer months though it’s even more crowded in than central Venice. Andiamo!
