Free admission. Located in the heart of Huntingdon. A small but fascinating museum. The curator, who is often on site, has lots of fascinating anecdotes to add to the experience.

I go here at least once a month to stock up on sausages and meats from their fantastic meat counter. The quality is always high no matter what cut I buy. While I am there I always seem to leave with a few extras from the deli counter and shop. After shopping it is time for a coffee and something lovely in the cafe, my husband’s favourite is the sausage roll, and I love the cakes. We also go to the steakhouse for lunch and some special occasion dinners as my grandchildren love being able to run around in the play area after the meal. The reptile house and woodland walks with rabbits running free and deer in the field just make for a truly lovely place. You do need to book in advance for the steakhouse as it is very popular if you want to book for things like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc. Also the place is shut on a Monday even if it is a bank holiday.

Out of all the problems that recent times have caused this place has really adapted to them very well. The refurb of the outside with the new bar, tables and undercover area is exactly what is needed in these times. Plenty of space, excellent service, good beer, great staff. I didn’t get a chance to try the food but I’ve heard it’s decent. If you’re looking for a good pub in St Ives look no further.
