Farm stand.
On our fall foliage tour, we ended with a stop at Brookdale. It's a farm stand, gift store, photo opportunity and all around fun place to be. Fresh apples were everywhere, of course, and there were multitudes of others foods to purchase - baked goods, cheese, drinks, vegetables - it was wonderful. We had cider doughnuts, which were good, and so was the blueberry hand pie and a fresh honey crisp apple. Lovely place, good customer service.

Lull Farm was established by David Orde in 1980. Lull Farm carries a large assortment of their own, locally grown produce, along with a large assortment of gourmet grocery items.
Our family visited Lull Farm for some fall Apples, and ended up with a basket full of local produce. Lull has more than a dozen varieties of Apple, Pick your own or grab in-store, they’re fresh and many choices. They have great Macoun Apples, but also carry Red Delicious, Grannies, Spy, Cortland and Golden’s. I’m not if there’s a variety they don’t have. In late summer, fall we visited Lull for over 30 varieties of tomato. Our family loves to each pick their own, cherry, Roma, beafstake, and a crazy amount of unique heirlooms. While there you can also pick up a quart of local milk, chocolate, strawberry, blueberry or banana. This month they have this fantastic pumpkin carving station where kids can grab any pumpkin , carve it up, and the farm will put a candle in and light up for Halloween. The pumpkins must stay but we got to take home the seeds and roast! Kids had a great time carving and the best part, the mess stays at the farm! The farm also has honey, syrup, fresh breads, potatoes, candies and more. Check out this local favorite in Hollis, NH.

The expansive and diverse trail network throughout this recreation area offers great hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.
Beaver Brook Reservation has many trails to walk on with ample opportunity for early risers to watch the local wild life. The fall colors are amazing.

What can be said about the Hollis Flea Market, that hasn’t already been said?! The people watching, the fried food, the junk for sale at discounted prices... it’s all Heaven on earth. Let me tell you what to expect at this trinket Mecca... 1. When you arrive, you will be “greeted” by an extremely disgruntled gentleman with butterfly net. He is there to take $2.00 of your hard-earned money (money you planned on using for a faux-pearl necklace) on parking. Don’t try to engage in conversation. Just throw your cash in the net and don’t divert your eyes. Also, bring exact cash. You’ve been warned. 2. Here’s where the fun REALLY begins! You will come across a sea of “tables” (plywood, old doors, etc.) filled with treasure you never knew you needed, but now, can’t live without. Pictures of a random persons dead relatives, YES PLEASE! costume jewelry, Only the finest! Assorted sun-bleached DVD’s, only EVERY one every produced! Furniture that’s in such disrepair that it’s literally dangerous, WORTH THE RISK!!! 3. All this excitement has worked up quite an appetite! So head on over to the food truck where you can feast on a “pickle on stick”. Be sure to wash it down with a refreshing banana lemonade! 4.oh no, that lemonade went right through you. The bathrooms are centrally located and convenient. Just be sure to wear a mask, bring hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and your own toilet and sink. (JK) 5. Almost time to head home, but first, a quick visit with “Sword Guy”. The Flea Market’s number 1 celebrity. He will wow you with his sharp masterpieces and knowledge of all things medieval torture! Ask to see pictures of his living room. It’s sure to impress! Well, that sums up a typical day in this glorious outdoor shopping haven. Remember to bring cash, sunscreen, mace, and any and all camp you may have. ENJOY!
