If you visit the Iowa State University campus, be sure to include a visit to the Brunnier Museum. They have a great selection of fine art to enjoy. Some pieces are permanent and some rotate so, there is something different to see though out the year.

My wife and I visited Alluvial in Feb 2020, Pre Covid, while on a weekend getawway. We home brew and are fans of craft beer. Alluvial seemed to be on the outskirts of Ames, but I may be wrong. Upon entering the parking lot we were impressed by the beautiful building. The interior is also quite impressive. There is a smaller room upon entering in which to sit that includes the taps. There is also a larger room that had a stage area that was quite roomy and would be a nice place to watch music. We sampled most of their beers on our visit and found all quite good. They do not serve food, but there were tables of guests that did bring outside food in with them. They do have popcorn for sale that come with a very delectable salt/flavoring. It's almost addictive. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend a visit if you're in the area. I'm sure that the current Covid concerns having had a drastic affect on their operations. It is places like this that we must support so that they are there for us to enjoy in the future.
