The Schaubuhne am Lehniner Platz, situated in a striking former cinema designed by Erich Mendelssohn and situated on Kurfurstendamm , is the biggest theatre in West Berlin. The programme focusses on social and political issues, and one of the theatre's distinctive features is a wide range of directing styles, which also includes new forms of dance and musical theatre.
